Maybe we need more "illegals" from the south to protect us from our military.

always pivoting to the brown people is so reflexive and natural that his supporters don't even notice it.

an update on my BCS rewatch.... I've just started season 5. Season 4 ended with Jimmy getting reinstated and he decides to use the Saul Goodman name. It's still true that I forgot many details of the various plotlines. I remembered what happened obviously but this show like BB is big on how things happened and it's those pieces I forgot which makes it all so entertaining again the second time around. And one thing that jumped out at me after watching BB 3 or 4 times and now doing BCS for the 2nd time.... the whole universe existed as it did for us because those skateboard scammers jumped on his car, and then later on Tuco's grandma drove by instead of Mrs Kettleman.

Did you get it at 8 Degrees? I saw you with Zach. I worked with him for years. He's a good dude. Missed meeting up with him.

Carter or Trump? You can for both but if it’s said about one nobody will take you seriously. The day Carter died if someone’s initial reporting or essay or whatever was just about the criticism as president then obviously it’s a hit piece because he spent 50 years in the public sphere and only 4 of those were as president. It is just as silly as someone, when OJ died, focusing only on his athletic feats and movie roles. I also will add that how and when the person died it’s important context of when and how to go negative. Carters been in hospice for 2 years so this isn’t a shock. If he had been eaten by a pack of wolves then maybe you wait as that’s the story for a bit.

I thjnk the elephant in the room is that people are ok with Indians from Chennai being here as doctors and engineers but not with Mexicans being here. They just want say it.
-
In terms of negativity on people who died…. The context is important. Critics of Carter are doing it in the context of his job performance and execution of policies. That’s far different that being a bad person and doing bad things. Yeah there will be gray areas, like Dubya and the Iraq war and intentions and all that. You can judge those responses on their own merit when the time comes. When DJT finally croaks I will criticize him for all the non potus related things he deserves to be criticized for. We are under no obligation to hold back and be nice for a period of time.

That goes along with my theory that conservatives don’t want to deal with anomalies. People that are born this way go thru hell and sports provides an outlet for them. A chance to be “normal” but god forbid your little Bella has to face a challenge.

Yeah that’s also the national day of mourning.

I’ve spent a lot of time watching coverage and have to give credit to Fox for playing it straight. It’s been solid coverage and no bull**** or caveats. he might be the last president that dies where most people will say only nice things.

Right. That’s exactly why “men want to compete in women’s sports”

I don’t want to give the impression I am dismissing those concerns. They are very valid. I’m just expressing some hope that it won’t be as bad as we fear…. Meaning much worse than it is now. It is bad now in several states but I don’t know how much better they would have gotten it Harris had won. Still need to win at the ballot boxes and in the courts and without more Dems in the senate then national protections for women’s health care will be in jeopardy. I’m not saying things will be great. Just that it may not develop into what we are thinking.

Talk about a solution in search of a problem. bunch of over protective helicopter moms living their life thru their daughters. Oh the horror! The same group of people bitching about participation trophies want to clear the way for their precious baby to not have to face any adversity or roadblocks and learn that sometimes life isn’t what you think it will be. And the day someone asks me to “prove my citizenship” and I’m not applying for a job or entering a country is the day I get arrested. If you agree to that as part of your every day life then you are a sheep and deserve your fate. Of course white people will assume they are exempt.

The Carter Center makes it official. he turned 100 a few weeks ago. I’m he died while we have a real president so he can get a classy send off. Joe Biden was the first senator to endorse him.

I truly think he has no interest in governing or doing anything. He ran to stay out of jail and get rich. He doesn’t need maga votes anymore. I predict 4 years of nothing. He will tweet stupid stuff. People will over react. His people will try some **** in government that will get bogged down in courts and the House GOP fighting among themselves. We may not even have a speaker. The worst that will happen is the senate confirming his crazy judges and we might see Alito or Thomas retire.

When I started my career I also had to handle sales. We started from zero. One of my first customers, who were businesses, was from Paw Paw. I asked the guy if he knew of Charlie and of course he did. When I would talk to him again he’d even mention running into him or family.

Too many people think of college courses as you learn “what to think” rather than “how to think”. And it’s interesting seeing this play out in a math/science vs humanities/literature/etc sandbox, wondering why the math and science need the other. How many times has the discussion been reversed? I think both are valuable. Obviously there is a limit to how far you can go. But there is a benefit to the brain in both disciplines. No you don’t need algebra or even pre calc to do many jobs. Not specifically. But your brain and mind retained a structure and thought process that can help you. The same is true for the other side of education.

Yeah I said all along you don’t necessarily dump Tork but you don’t make or not make any moves you think makes your team better based on him.

These things will work themselves out. U You dont set the roster in December

I too have an experience that makes me wonder if it’s cultural. I’ve been consistently over promised and under delivered to the point where I just ignore and wait for something concrete. The reason I assume it’s culturally accepted is because the performance has been brutal if in that regard. Things were given that even if I showed any of you here you would see the problems. But hey…. They met a deliverable to the customer.

I don’t know where Vivek is going. I can’t see him doing that without some kind of vetting if he wants to be part of maga. Is this related to Musks tweet as well? That was kind of racist, he implies physical differences in people. I don’t see much of anything wrong with what Vivek wrote. But I took a gummy tonight and have had a beer. But he seems to contradict the whole “college is stupid” argument that’s taken hold on the GOP in this Joe Rogan world.

I don’t know all the crimes of the commuted sentences but the line he is probably using, as Vegas pointed out, is that the federal death penalty is justified in acts of terrorism both against a nation and against a category of people. I don’t have a strong opinion on it. I personally don’t care what happens to these people. I am against the death penalty but unless I see some kind of unfairness in the death prosecution I don’t shed any tears.

You took the words right out of my mouth. The conservatives want to blame the unions for a problem that is a societal one. Conservatives need a bogeyman. Someone to blame. Whether it’s the teachers who only do that job “to get summers off” or “welfare parents” having too many kids and not feeding them. As I said elsewhere they don’t want to deal with problems.
