  1. Regarding the jerseys... I'm 48 and hated them. My son is 21 and he and his friends loved them. He bought one last year and I guess the story is... we're not the demographic they are after anymore. Makes me sad. I'm going out to yell at some clouds now.
  2. It's a pretty good bet that we all know someone going through the same struggles.
  3. Fox News is having a parade over the .9% GDP thing. I didn't want to put that in the investment thread as I know you regulars like to keep the politics out of it.
  4. so that's a confirmation that it's the Walt and Jesse episode since the first time Saul appeared on BB was title was "Better Call Saul". It will not be a cameo. I think it's going to be significant and will lead to a distinct shift of some sort.
  5. that's odd to me b/c I assume Whitmer will win rather easily. By that I mean a few points. Won't be an Engler/Feiger landslide but....
  6. I don't have any opinion of Harbaugh. I don't do football. He's just a name to me. He's presenting an overly simplistic opinion on a narrow situation on a very complicated topic and inferring, as pfife pointed out, that his method is courageous and by default is inferring that if you don't follow his method then you lack courage. He's the one making personal attacks. I think that lady in Texas would disagree. Legislators are focusing on just one small problem and the consequences of that extend a lot further. He's also a public employee (highest paid state employee in MI) making political statements and involving his family so I fail to see how they are not possibly fair game for criticism.
  7. Because the fact he needs to tell us that shows his arrogance. Why do we need to know? His statement on what he would do in a situation is irrelevant and has nothing to do with what public policy should be or what other people should do in their lives and in their situation. He gives off a "I'm better than you" vibe. I'm very happy that people choose to adopt, it makes the world a better place. But you can't force people to do that and our laws should not be based on that option. It's akin to saying we should ban eating meat because someone else went vegan and feels so much better for it.
  8. They should have mailed the discharged mass of cells to the Harbaugh residence so they, errrr, Mrs Harbaugh could deal with it
  9. Along with their cooks, groundskeepers, personal assistants, trainers…
  10. I’m certain the leaker is a right by because Fox and the like quit talking about it. You would have thought it was a national security issue.
  11. Good for him. His choices shouldn’t be foisted on everyone else. His opinion, or anyone else’s, on what they would do is irrelevant to what the law should be.
  12. had no idea the dad from Wonder Years played for the Padres and Tigers.
  13. correction. I got my story mixed up. Campbell wrote The Boys of Summer that Henley made famous after Petty turned it down. The article I got it from was about The End of the Innocence and they shared that anecdote at the beginning.
  14. It wasn't until very recently that I learned that Mike Campbell, from the Heartbreakers, is a talented songwriter. He wrote The End of the Innocence for Bruce Hornsby who wasn't that keen on it but let Henley have it.
  15. Is it because he's local? Fun fact I learned from Don Felder's book.... Duane Allman taught Don how to play slide. Don taught Petty how to play. What was in the water in Gainesville?
  16. Different actor and that threw me off a little bit. I knew what they were doing with it but assumed it was either another incident of getting caught or I forgot a scene. I wanted a cinnabon but after watching him eat about 10 of them my stomach was hurting.
  17. It’s all part of being a subservient and godly wife in the Christian fundamentalist world. “What did she do to make him do that?”
  18. Doh! It does get good but I think maybe the money ran out or something so they just sort of winged it near the end, that's all.
  19. I was just thinking about that show this morning on a topic for shows that sort of "gave up". They didn't know how to end it.
  20. I'll just generically offer that I think it's great that we have a situation where an employer is accommodating to an employee going through personal problems and wish everyone had that opportunity.
  21. How can anyone know? Is contraction just a rebound effect of people cramming 2 years of spending into 1? Water finding it’s level? A guy going 2-19 after a 14-30 hot streak? Is it a bubble popping or just air being slowly let out? Need more analogies?
