I wonder if there’s a dynamic at play among Ben and Justin Verlander. Ben works for the league now. He probably has to keep his tongue in check if he has opinions sympathetic to his brothers side.
We know several people who have had it where nobody else in the family got it. One friend went to Mexico with her husband for their 25th. Tested negative prior to going. He tested positive before coming back. He has no symptoms but had to stay at the hotel, on their dime, isolated. He can't even go on the balcony. They bring food to him and leave it at the door. She never tested positive. He was tested every day while in Mexico before a negative allowed him to leave. This was just last week so probably omicron.
it absolutely does. Telling 21 year olds to not get vaccinated because the risk is "low" is like telling them to not wear seat belts. Yes the risk is small but it's also not zero. My wife has had patients in the hospital under 30. Healthy patients.
Sounds simplistic but we won't have a deal until we have a deal. I expect movement once there's real risk on the season being affected. We had 2 consecutive seasons with either a low number of games or capacity restrictions. They'll want things to be normal and will work it out. There's no just need to move now.
also on the mandates... not everyone who is yet to be vaxxed are anti vax.... many are just lazy. They haven't gotten around to it yet. Maybe the mandates pushed them to do it. That's pasitive.
if you only have 50 people in a room then the virus doesn't spread.
I see it as push it until you are told you can't. Ask forgiveness rather than permission. That's what they are doing. It doesn't bother me.
Opposing a vaccine mandate is not a hill I would die on.
In theory, making someone inject something into their body as a condition of employment sounds shady and big brother ish... but.... we all need to do our part to make society function. If I don't want to breathe dirty air I can go live off the land in the country and if I don't want to get a shot then I can figure out how to not work.
and many states don't allow electors to go against the wishes of the state. It's all ceremony. Just say "If you win CA, you get 54 points, if you win MI, you get 18 points, whatever it is... don't call them "electors".
