They started coming up in the late 20's and 30's. They'd go back and forth between Detroit and TN depending on jobs and finally stayed here in 1950. My mom was named after a Polish lady they lived next door to in Detroit. But then her parents went back to TN where she grew up. A lot of aunts/uncles stayed in TN. My dad's family lived in SW Detroit. Just like other "immigrants" they went where the others were and in the 50's and 60's lots of people from TN lived there. On my mom's side they were east side. One uncle in East Detroit and another in Detroit.

My family was Dutch and Irish and perhaps Scot. Also some injun. Family was backwoods. 1700s. Very poor.

I saw a David Aldridge tweet about his time on TNT and he'd criticize David Stern and then get called and chewed out... but never fired. Big difference is that TNT and ESPN and the likes are the customers to the leagues. They give them the money so the league can't be as forceful. MLB Network IS the league.

Change of subject..... I don't get the fascination with the Theranos story. Is it because she's kind of pretty? The symptoms for omicron are basically a cold. I get a cold usually twice a year. Only once have I had a sinus infection bad enough to go to a doctor. Usually I just guzzle nyquil or booze so I can sleep. Also I can never tell between allergies or a cold. I know I have allergies because my whole life I'd wake up congested and need about 30 minutes to clear it out. And I always have to clear my throat.... I assume from cigars. I will be making an appointment to give blood. Red Cross does antibody checks. I can think of one time in early Oct that made me suspicious but it was also when the weather turned and I had been running and outside in cool damp weather under dressed. Right around when I got my booster as well. I've held back slightly but not much. We had some outings with family and do have a few cousins unvaxxed. Nobody close to us has ever tested positive. Lots of friends and extended family but none of our close family that lives here.

There's a Livonia in upstate NY, near Rochester. My nephew lives around there.
