  1. Church leader. They’re always church leaders.
  2. Michigan accents are normal
  3. When I came of age drinking wise in the mid 90's Labatt was my beer of choice for a very long time. I have the mirrors, hockey stick, helmet, etc. Then I'd watch old hockey clips or whatever and see the Labatt's logo... dang. I never knew it was the official name. A good friend of mine at the time moved here from Windsor and that's how he said it but I assumed it's just him being all Canadian on me.... "Hey, you want to have supper here tonight? I got some labatt's and we can go over the 'pro-cess' of how we're going to build the rink out back..."
  4. In defense of Meijer's it used to be called "Meijer's Thrifty Acres". Still doesn't excuse Fords, KMarts. etc.
  5. I wonder if it's possible to know how many times a GM traded for the same player more than once? A fun trivia game, in person, no phones or whatever, is to guess which player was part of which trades. They all run together. Ausmus, Brocail, Lima, Todd Jones, Holt, Meluskey.... one year he signed Phil Plantier then traded him in Spring Training.
  6. I wonder if he has to pay Heidi $10,000 every time he gets to use her name like that. Nobody likes Ted. Not his family. I don't know if he they have a dog but if they do I bet the dog hates him too. Trump doesn't like him. He doesn't respect him. Never let it be said I don't think Trump was right about something because he was spot on about Marco and Ted in 2016.
  7. I remember on the old forum Biggs pointing out that Common Core as they call it was how you learned in Japan and it helps train engineers. People who might think they are not good at math were just not taught the right way to think about it. The goal isn't for you to learn what 12*9 is.... it's to train your brain to do the calculation so that you can do more advanced ones later on. Don't just memorize it.
  8. You did that in your head? I would have gotten hung up on the final calculation. I'm that way with years now... after 2020 hit If you ask me what year was 34 years ago I get mixed up. I still think 1997 was like 10 years ago.
  9. and trading Fryman was symbolically bad because he was the only homegrown talent they developed in a long time. He was the comp pick for losing Parrish to FA. He had a couple of good seasons in Cleveland. Oddly enough both Dean and Fryman crashed hard after their age 31 season in 2000. I remember his first HR, there was a little dust up, I think he trash talked. Sparky just said "I talked to him... he won't do it again." He later named one of his sons after Sparky (George, not Sparky).
  10. This is how I did it: 137*10 = 1370 100*8 = 800 8*30 = 240 8*7 = 56 2466 Took me about 20 seconds
  11. I have an intense dislike to talking to anything. I will never do it. If I get on a call and the menu says "Tell us how we can help you today, if you need help with....". I just start mashing all the buttons. I will never do it.
  12. They are not the same. One had the intent of stopping a specific government function and interupting the peaceful transfer of power. That's why they were there and that's why they went to the Captiol. They were also told to do that by a sitting US President. People were cheering for the execution of the Vice President and were in the same building as he was. #2, #3, and #4 in the Presidential line of succession were all in the same building as there was a violent riot going on in which police officers were being attacked and overrun. They were not the same thing.
  13. Gabe Alvarez was a part of one of Randy Smith's enigmas.... "We can't really afford Travis Fryman anymore, we gotta get younger.... let's trade him for some younger guys" They trade him to get Joe Randa and Gabe Alvarez ( and Matt Drews because they lost him in the expansion draft after trading Cecil Fielder for him so they gotta recoup that loss). Then after a year of nothing at 3B they sign... Dean Palmer for more money than they would have had to pay Fryman.
  14. I watched the Ted Cruz thing again this morning and I'm not sure we grasp yet how remarkable that is. Watch the video and understand that one guy is a US Senator, one of 100, of the 2nd largest state. He ran for President. He worked in a White House and argued cases for the Supreme Court. The other guy is a TV host. Look at the dynamic between the power and observe who has the power and upper hand. It's like Biff and Mr. McFly in Back to the Future.
  15. Doesn’t the Sec Service conduct sweeps?
  16. Here's more of that day last year that so many republicans write off as either no big deal or an FBI plot.
  17. Here are some of the patriots showing their respect to the police.
  18. "Back the blue"
  19. The only lives lost on 9/11 were the hijackers...
  20. I lost several family members on that day from social media. People were like "It's antifa..."
  21. The parents just blame "new math" or "common core". Kids need to learn the old fashioned way and just hope the multiplier never goes above 12.
  22. I think that guy lived with his mom. If I recall my trials correctly.
