  1. Two fundamentalist friends from HS shared that same story yesterday on social media.... maga-heads.
  2. There’s really nothing left to tidy up in the BCS world other than Kim and Jimmy. I foresee two Gene episodes. The WW/Jesse thing will be cameos of some sort. Not a big deal.
  3. So what happens if that passes? It automatically becomes an amendment? While I agree with this motive I'm not sure I agree with that process.
  4. That might have been the best episode of the series. I had to rewind the shootout because it wasn't clear to me at first what happened. I love the way Gus can go from being scared shitless to a menacing badass in seconds. Loved his phone call to the employee. Mike's tenderness to Howard was good. He takes responsibility for it after Kim asks "where were you?". That's why he told the guys to "go easy" when moving him into the grave. We still got some comedy with Jimmy yelling while bound and gagged as they are leaving. Lalo knowing Kim was the real heavy in the duo. I'm interested in the fact the previews/teasers we get are them off screen doing things like brushing their teeth or just getting ready in the morning and calmly talking about their day. I'm not interested really in knowing where this lines up with BB or whatever.
  5. Tell me you are a bad team without telling me you are a bad team: a reliever is your only all star
  6. Went to the Def Leppard/Motley Crue/Poison/Joan Jett show last night at Comerica Park. It was really great except for Motley Crue, which is who I was looking forward to the most. I had read that Vince mumbles his way through. Whatever... I did the music. But last night we couldn't make out the music. I can't believe that go through their checks. People were leaving. Granted it was a Sunday night and after 10 and a long day for some, show started at 4:30, but still. Poison was better than I expected. Brett Michaels really showed some love and knew where he was. Referenced Blondies, Harpo's.... Overall the show as a great trip down memory lane from elementary school with songs like Photograph, Bringing on the Heartbreak, Foolin', Shout at the Devil... then to middle and high school. Even touched early college years with Dr. Feelgood and Kickstart my heart. People watching was even better.
  7. I thought their argument was that it wasn’t something that was federally done in the first place? That the court just made it up? I’m ignorant of the details though.
  8. One thing to consider is Trumps maneuvering after 2020 were greatly aided by the fact he was president. A GOP challenger even against a Pete Buttigieg or any other non Biden D wild be at a structural disadvantage. what I wont discount is some rogue states doing funny things with their electors, state legislatures determinant them other than the voting results, and putting Harris in a position to “just ceremoniously certify” what everyone knows are bogus electors. When the D’s object then the Hannity and Tuckers of the world will just say “see.. they do it too” I see that as a distinct possibility.
  9. Hopefully Justice is served. A boy was lynched because of her false accusations and she lived a long life because of it.
  10. Is the point to help people who need the help now with regard to medical care or electoral strategy? If it’s the latter then it’s kind of cynical. Women in these backwards states will be hurting and dying. at this point I hate to say it but what happens next is totally in the hands of pro choice people. If they vote in the numbers that polls suggest then getting it into law should be easy. There’s enough open seats in the senate to do what’s needed this mid term. More people are in favor of choice than the red hats.
  11. FWIW my wife works in a hospital. For employees at this point it’s 5 days off. Regardless of test status b/c of lagging positives due to remnants. If you feel fine then I think you are ok. A pediatrician friend who is very cautious didn’t even retest to get back to normal. All based on feel and the 5 days.
  12. DEsantis also sounds like a whiny little bitch when he talks.
  13. I'm friends with Hansen and his wife. Great people.
  14. That's a problem that will never ever be fixed despite who much we hate it. So you have to play the game as it's laid out, not how you wish it were.
  15. The show was really great. They just released some new material and the studio versions are great but on the mellower side and i was worried how that would translate live. They nailed it. I don't recall being that excited about hearing new music at a show. It takes me a bit to get acclimated. The new songs plus a couple of covers like Keep on Growing, and the staples like Midnight in Harlem. Great mix to stay fresh. Never the same show twice. That's how it should be. I saw the original setlist after the show and was glad they changed the encore to Space Captain. Afterwards we walked by the lot where the buses and trailers were. We stood around with a few others and Derek and Susan came over to chat and sign autograhs. They were beyond cool. I didn't get any autographs but talked to Susan about the Chicago shows and Derek about Bourbon. They easily could have ignored us as the gates/fences were covered with a tarp but one area had a gap we could see through. But they walked over. I saw feedback online about the Pine Knob show and it sounds like it was awesome. Bob Weir seemed excited about it. I would have been there if not for this.
  16. When Side A is under oath and Side B is not under oath I'll always defer to Side A. That's common sense.
  17. Mellencamp got on him for "selling out". Seger was on Later with Bob Costas and was asked about it... he said "they came to me and said they needed help and the auto industry for me is like farming is to John so he does Farm Aid and I let them use Like a Rock". Sure he got paid but he's also not wrong. It's just a song. It's not picasso.
  18. He's had them fixed. The reason I say that is b/c at game 1 of the 2006 WS Bob did the anthem. My friend says "Man, you could butter your toast with those choppers"
  19. former co worker of mine has a connection to him. She got invited to his wedding anniversary party. Based on her description of his house... he's doing very ok. The finances of music interests me. Like how do they track all of it? I know Henley is super stingy. Rick Beato always talks about "blockers" on his music videos even though all he's doing is commenting. There's a clip from Letterman on YouTube where he wanted to play an Eagles song but his producer was fighting him over the cost. You could see some panic I listened to a pod a few years ago and they mentioned the struggles getting clearance for some rap songs for movies because of sampling. Every single owner has to sign off and in some cases they'd sample some 70's funk band with 13 guys in it and you'd have to track down a sax player who's been out of the business. It's why some TV shows have never made it to streaming. THe movie Pump Up the Volume is now on HBO Max but for a long time it wasn't anywhere. They didn't get clearance for the music.
  20. Results oriented decisions instead of going where the theory takes you. The complete opposite of what it should be.
  21. Personally I believe our minds and brains are configured to understand things here on Earth. There's a limit. I'm a space buff. I've read a lot of books on the subject of exploration and it seems incredibly wasteful for the Christian notion of a God to just focus on Earth given the billions of other galaxies out there. I also never got past the idea that someone who grew up in say, a Mayan civilization, was doomed to eternal damnation.... or a contemporary of us born in the jungles of South America or some tribe of Africa or a desert in the Middle East is doomed because they didn't have the good fortune to be exposed to Christianity. It'll make sense to us at some point. I do believe in a diety. What we have today is too great to just be an accident. But it's beyond our scope of the human brain to undestand. That's ok.
  22. The thing with the SS is cute in that it's dramatic but the biggest story is the arms. Trump knew they had guns. He wanted it so that there would be more of them. He demanded that. He wanted to be with them. He knew they wouldn't hurt him and said so. He didn't care if they hurt others. He said Mike Pence deserved to be hung.
  23. Fox talking about Maxwell and Epstein and Hillary.
  24. I meant "right now" to mean in this general timeframe of when it the show came out. Not all time. although owning the rights to a top song can set you up for life as if you won the lottery. I remember being shocked once when I saw a house that Barbara Mandrell owned. If you owned your songs and got good radio airplay in the 60s-80s you were set. Bob Seger said not giving himself a credit on Old Time Rock and Roll, which was a throw away song on the album it was released on cost him probably $20M. He didn't even use the Silver Bullet Band on it. USed the guys at Muscle Shoals. He did change the song somewhat but didn't think it was a big deal because the song wasn't important. It was filler. Then Risky Business.
