  1. They thought he was going to pay off their student loans.
  2. Also treating service and other similar employees (like truck drivers) like garbage disuaded a lot of young people from those fields. Truck Drivers in particular. I mean.... who wouldn't want to be away from their family for weeks on end for $50K a year? Yes we need them to function as a society delivering goods but the power is in the labor now. And truck drivers can often get screwed over by companies. You can make a good living in skilled trades, middle class definitely... but it takes a toll on your body too.
  3. enjoy! I watched it during the original run and twice since.... then last year Michael Imperioli (Christophuh!) and Steven Schirippa (Bobby Baccala) started a podcast, right before the pandemic started, where they review one episode a week. They are finally down to the last episode so I was followed along. It was really a groundbreaking series for making the main character an anti-hero. The writers and directors involved went on to make so many other things.
  4. It wouldn’t matter. What could Atlanta do about it? Nothing. They can’t vote them out. Yes it won’t be legitimate but… what does that mean? We are evolving to majority by geography. The cities, which will have more people, will be governed by the rural because they will outnumber cities in terms of representation in the legislatures. the goal of the GOP isn’t legitimacy or honor. It’s power. By any means necessary. So what if people in Washington are unhappy. Or a bunch of lib labs.
  5. Seriously. I used the cool mint listening this morning. 3 hours ago. Went thru a workout. 3 bottles of water. A breakfast sandwich. A caramel macchiato. I can still taste it
  6. 1982 was back when George Will was speculating that Bush was going to dump Reagan from the ticket.
  7. Then they will say “well since it’s all screwed up we need our legislature to decide it for us. They will decide which slate of electors we send. It’s the law”
  8. You know… I’m working from home so… why not? Not like anyones going to smell it. Harry Truma started his day with a brisk walk at military pace and 2 eggs and a shot of bourbon. He lived to be an old man.
  9. You are very rare. Nobody has saved money during the pandemic. But at the same time everyone got big raises.
  10. Yep. The goal is to end democracy. Elections won’t matter. Don’t like the result? Well some no name county election commissioner can just not confirm. A rebel Secretary of State not confirm. State legislatures not validate. A Governor. They are setting things up to create chaos when none existed. Just overwhelm with anecdotes and rumors and half cocked theories and then say “people lost trust”. They lost trust because 1/3 of our population are brain dead and believe anything a guy on TV tells them. We are a nation of Alex Jones.
  11. Right because some people not being able to buy christmas presents never happened until 2021. I guess all those years I was adopting families and buying clothes and toys… I was just being duped. That’s what I get for being an elitist. but I also thought all the shelves were empty? Can you guys make up your mind?
  12. I have to get my son off in the morning super early and as I have said he’s obsessed with that network. Fox News at 5:30 am is something special.
  13. The lasting image of the 2020 election for me is the sight of a bunch of rednecks from outstate Michigan at Cobo trying to bust into the room demanding they stop counting the votes of black people. It’s 2021. Not 1950 Alabama or 1860 America.
  14. My wife and I get into arguments over mouthwash. I like that 92 octane shit. I know if works. I don’t want cool mint this or that. I don’t want flavor. I want my mouth to burn because I know it’s doing something. Same with soap. I don’t need soap that makes my hand smell like French vanilla pudding. Give me lava.
  15. Kevin Nealon said on weekend update that they need a new category. If involved the “r” word so I won’t repeat it. Just shows how much we changed in 30 years though.
  16. inflations the fault of burger flippers making too much money. But I'm the elitist around here
  17. You have issues my friend. What do you think is causing inflation if not increased spending? Are you saying there are not people with more cash saved up than they had 2 years ago. I'm not even sure what your point is. I'm not going to talk about things involving numbers with someone who thinks 17% (college educated dual income) is 'very small'. I'm not dual income though, I'm 1.5 income by the way. But rest assured... nobody's spending money because everybody's broke... that inflation is just out there happening on it's own. All of those contractors who are booked out 6 months are making it all up... nobody's getting windows or gutters or whatever...
  18. wrong. Many people were able to save up a lot of money by working from home and forgoing vacations and other things in 2020 in addition to 3 rounds of stimulus money..... They've been spending that money on goods and services over the last year. That's what causes inflation. If that were not happening we wouldn't have inflation. The fact you ay that's not true is very mind boggling. Just because not everyone if flush with cash doesn't mean nobody is.
  19. Michael Keaton is an American treasure in my opinion and it's still bothers me he didn't win the Oscar that year. He deserved it.
  20. what's elitist about it? I know a lot of people who aren't. What do you suggest we do to stop inflation? Nobody sat down in a board room and said "We need inflation, make it happen". It's the result of supply and demand. If I mentioned I went out to a nice dinner is it elitist because others can't?
  21. it's really not complicated why we have inflation and I don't see how you can blame a politician for it or what you can do to solve it other than take money away. People have built up cash reserves from not doing anything for almost 2 years. Many were given stimulus money that didn't need it and it's sitting in savings accounts and being used on things like vacations and home improvments, etc. Things that were put off in 2020 are now being done in 2021 and they've got 2 years of savings plus stimulus money to do it. Also employment is at low levels so more people are working and more are spending. What exactly are the critics suggesting be done? Millions of people are making independent decisions to spend money they've saved up. That's why we have inflation. Should we pass a law that you can't buy anything?
  22. I don't believe in any conspiracy with JFK. From a forensic point of view the evidence supports the injuries occurring as portrayed from bullets in the stated direction. Technology has proven that. It's been proven that a person can do what was done with the gun Oswald used. Oswald got the job at the depository before JFK even planned to go to Dallas. Oswald was a nut who hated everybody in power. Regarding any files not being released... there's a very simply reason why that is. During the course of all the investigations into the CIA, mafia, etc. etc. there could be info about informants that need to be protected, for reasons having nothing to do with JFK. Someone might simply still be alive that wasn't expected to be so they are waiting for that person to die. Yes, I believe that JFK and his family were involved with the mafia, especially Joe Kennedy, and there's secrets. But as for the asssassination itself.. there's nothing there. The Ruby stuff is nothing too. If Jack Ruby was going to kill Oswald on that Sunday he sure took his time getting there. The only reason he was able to was because Oswald asked for a sweater to wear over his plain white T shirt so they went back up to get it. Ruby was running errands all morning and stopped at the police station, which he did often as they came into his strip club. He didn't want Jackie to have to go through a trial so he snapped and shot him since he was right there in front of him. He wasn't "silencing" anyone.
  23. This morning Fox was all over the Smollet stuff, still talking about their Christmas Tree tragedy, they dubbed it America's Tree by the way, and they were complaining about Titleist rejecting certain personalized descriptions you can get on their golf balls, something about encouraging a golfer named Brandon. I took a picture of whatever it was on my screen
  24. It was an insurrection. They legitimately thought that on January 6 events would occur that would have prevented Biden from being declared the winner. They thought it was going to happen. That's why they had their "party". It was a tailgate for a game they expected to win.
