I think it’s wild that people that claim to be Christian are Donald Trump supporters.

This is fun to read. Some that stand out for me that I wouldn't outright hate. 1) Rolling over outs in innings 7-9. Meaning, if in the 8th the first two hitters make an out, you can end that half inning and get 4 outs the next inning 2) Resetting the batting lineup in extra innings. If the 9th ends with the 7th hitter making the final out, you can start the 10th with the top of the lineup. 3) Batter can "steal" first on passed balls/wild pitches, not just on third strikes 4) In a tie game, in the bottom of the 9th, the home team can start with a ghost runner, but they sacrifice their ghost runner in the 10th if htey fail to score.

The thing to consider with a trade is all the reasons you list for the Tigers having to resort ot trading him are also true for most other teams. Why would they give up more than a few quality players/prospects for that "problem"?

Today is the 52nd anniversary of the end of the final lunar mission. If you ever looked at the full moon and wondered where we went. All the sites are on the near side as it was way too risky to land on the far side due to communication blackouts. No way would they allow that, although the only geologist to walk on the moon, Jack Schmitt secretly lobbied for it. (There is no such thing as a dark side of the moon despite what Pink Floyd said) Apollo 11’s site was picked for easy access get there, get down, pick up some rocks and dust, and get the hell home before someone dies. Apollo 12’s goal was to prove a precision landing was possible. Pete Conrad landed within a few hundred feet of a crashed surveyor probe sent up a few years earlier. 15-17 sites were specifically picked for what the geologists and scientists wanted to retrieve to learn from the moons history.

A baseball manager is not really a manager in a corporate sense. Who do the players report to? The manager or the front office? I'd say it's the front office. Who in the front office? The POBO? The General Manager? I'm sure there's not an org chart that includes players so it's not so easy to answer. Who does the manager report to? The GM or the POBO? Or the owner?

I was never that caught up on what the Astros did. I see it as a difference in degree and not principal and assume most clubs would do it if they thought of it or could. I also agree that with high profile and expensive players and team leaders doing something with the consent of the front office that a manager is not in a position of fully controlling it. The makeup of organizations is different now with the staffs being so large. Can managers set curfews, dress codes, and other rules on their own or is that org driven? "Cheating" in baseball is a mixed bag. It can be celebrated in some situations as cute and flamboyant but harshly treated in other situations. One of the greatest home runs in history was the result of something not unlike what the Astros were doing.

Long Duk Dong. Donger needs food. I know this because as a freshman on varsity baseball I of course was picked on and razzed so my nickname obviously was "Donger". Not sure on his nationality but when he was found on the lawn after his night out, Grandpa Fred said to Grandpa Howard "Howard, there's your chinaman"

Agree. I also make it a point this time of year to watch the episode where Josh deals with his PTSD from getting shot, also set around Christmas. Noel. God I loved this show.

I noticed about 18 months ago at work that anything in documents or the desktop automatically went to OneDrive. These are company laptops. It took me about 2 days to figure it out. A piece of software I had quit working. It’s because the config path changed. There needs to be two modes. “Let me decide, I know what I am doing” and “ok you do it. I will just click icons”

MAGA is full of fake tough guys and so they think only pussies get vaccines. Take your disease like a real man would.

Vaccines are woke now....

Astros in Alaska? Oil workers from TX I bet. North and South Carolina going for NYY? Considering the big college B-Ball teams in that area I can see the fans being loyal to front runners and bandwagoners and the Yanks have been great for a long time so why not.... I want to know about the Cardinals for Montana.
-
Those are MAGA folks assuming the position for what they want DJT, or their favorite youth pastor, to do to them. They just can't get enough of it. The herpes is strong with them.

Yes that's correct. I don't remember installing Google Photos, I guess it just is part of their suite now because I had the gmail account. All my photos are there. If I delete a photo from the Google Photos app, it deletes it from my photos library on my iphone and thus my icloud library too. I just went in now and the message, in Google PHotos, when I delete a photo says "This photo will be deleted from icloud photos on all your devices. It will be in recently deleted for 30 days". It's not a business connection but just an extortion racket to get me to pay Google for what I am already paying Apple for. Do a search on it on the interwebs and you'll see lots of people talking about it. Google has cloned the iCloud in terms of photos and you can't get around it. Amazon has a photos app too and it does the same in terms of syncing but I can delete from Amazon Photos without worrying about it being deleted off iCloud.

My mortgage service company are complete hounds.... I have from the 1st to the 17th to pay it each month and I just do it around when a certain pay period hits. I called them last week because I needed a copy of somethiand and instead of helping me they're like "DO YOU WANT TO PAY IT NOW!!!????". Told them I was doing something at the moment so please just help me with what I need right now...." Every time I log on their site they want me to refinance or take cash out, etc. MY RATE IS 2.5% dip****s. Why the **** would I refinance? Before I do pay it each month they call at least twice. I got a message yestrerday from a "debt collector" complete with the disclaimer. That's the words they used. Didn't identify who they were. I searched the phone number, because I pay all my bills and anybody acting as a debt collector is a scammer, and it was my mortage servicer.

I was that “arrogant” person. These folks either have no kids or the kids are grown adults. They were indulging. Nothing wrong with that on its own. Just cut the bull****.

I hate... hate hate... when there's a group email on something and you include someone else to get their input or to answer the question... and they reply just to you with either the answer or another question.
-
who is doing that?

Reminds me of when systems ask for "occupation" and the list is both non inclusive enough and extremely outdated or detailed. Just last week I came across one that didn't have anything for me or my wife, she's an Occupational Therapist. but it had things like "Cigarette Distributor" "Liquor Store owner" "Casino Owner" "Beauty Salon Owner".
-
Yeah but others showed up too. Like Billy Pierce. I believe his number is retired by the South Side Chicago Ball Club.

see.... I like that. My instinct is "Crap, I gotta get up soon... oh wait, I don't. I got another hour" But now I get up... it's dark... "Oh I got another hour or so... oh wait, I don't. It's 7:17, my daily stand up is in 13 minutes...."

He seems like a JD Martinez type.... not a lot of time here and success elsewhere but the fans here really took to him and loved him. He and MIckey Tettleton were the only two former players invited to the closing ceremonies at Tiger Stadium that didn't come. I don't know if Rocky had a beef with the org?
