tonight's the last BCS until July.

They have burgers. That's the focus. The guy basically said they replaced the alcohol with ice cream. They live in the neighborhood, he's also a pharmacist. They wanted a place they could take their kids to. Not everyone wants to, or can for religious/custom reasons, go to a place that is primarily a bar. The burgers were very good. Nice people. Kind of a limited menu as they want to focus on smaller things and get it right. They own the day care place next door and in conversations with JP, the owner of the former JP's they eventually came to an agreement to buy it. Seems to do well.

Remember when Greektown was the only nice safe place to go in Detroit. I won't go there there anymore. And even after Tiger games now there seems to be a lot more activity. Loud cars booming, revving of the engines, etc. There's always a huge line to get into the place that used to be Cheli's.

boo fucking hoo. After having too many men on the ice while short handed and down 2-0 in game 3, down 2-0 in the series, in 2009 they never ever get to complain about a call in the playoffs. Never.

I am dragging. Stayed up Saturday night, then got up to run 8 miles, then again last night. Thank God for working from home.

Ferndale, Stellantis, and Ford re imposing masks for those on site.

No I don't think it's the same owners. Yes the parking lot is weird. But the hot dog cart guy is back so once a week I walk over to get one. Have you tried the new Bagel place in the Iceburg location? They are sharing the space. We've had it twice. Very good. They sell bagels in the morning before the Iceburg people take over.

I can't wait for the new place to open up next to CVS. I used to go to the Pelham Market a lot too for quick one or two item things. But they had a dispute with The Vinery people, who own the building, so they kicked them out. They were nice people. Meat was a bit iffy but for things like pasta or whatever it was fine.

Wife does our big shopping and after trying Meijer a few times she keeps saying “never again”. We do the online ordering between them and Kroger. And for other things we hit up Westborn, Dearborn Farm Market, or Aldi. The Aldi on the hill is great. Never been to one of them before. They don’t have everything to stock a kitchen or pantry but they have a lot of what you need. Basically we use Kroger or Meijer for perishables. Then we get the fresh stuff from other places. We probably go to the store 5 times a week with 4 of those being quick 15 minute trips.

This is all bullshit.

This guy is doing the work of Tucker and Hannity and Ingraham and the rest of the GOP. He took their complaints to the next logical step.

Decisions now must be made based on hospitalized from covid instead of with covid. That’s the only metric that should matter.

That guy is one of you. He devours the same media you do and agrees with you on everything

We have to go thru metal detectors at baseball games because Goober insists on having guns available to him so he can play “army” in the woods.

When booking a car rental and you need something of a certain size, book one size lower. Chances are you will be upgraded given inventory on site that day. I was reminded of this as I am reserving now. Prices for airfare were higher but car rentals seem a lot lower than last year.

Another in the “what is the pro life solution for this?” This is the reality and the kind of situations are laws are supposed to accommodate. not the insane “domestic supply of adoption” by the freak ACB. Guess the right wingers are tired of settling for black kids.

It God wanted the pre born to have full autonomy she would have made it so women laid eggs instead of carrying for 9 months. Until the baby is born it’s a part of the mothers body and she and her doctor should made the decisions free from the government. That’s the conservative way right? Let people make their own decisions privately.

To further expand on how much credit to give Ilitch.... would he have hired Yzerman if he wasn't Steve Yzerman?

BTW, I credit Michael Kinsley for opening my eyes up to that logic. If people truly felt that abortion was "murder" and that a fetus was the very same thing as a baby 2 weeks after the birth, then what does it say about them if they do not try to stop that at all costs? Of course, we tragically know that some of the fanatics do believe that and have murdered and tried to murder women seeking abortions and the doctors... but nearly everyone who opposes abortion and uses those terms does not agree with those actions. I argue it's inconsistent if you truly felt that way. But if they then acquiesce that it's not reallly murder or a baby then they go down the compromise path.

You know nothing about my faith so that's a dumb thing to say and those who brag about theirs are often the most wicked. You are being a hypocrite or using language you either don't believe in or don't understand. To sit idly by while you know women are "killing babies" would be immoral and make you as guilty as the Germans in the 30's who stood by while they knew Jews were being slaughtered. or maybe it's something besides "killing babies". But you can't admit to that because then it breaks the foundation of your argument you've trapped yourself in.
-
and I think Hannity and Ingraham are on Fox making alternate cases on that race.
-
women are not killing babies. Full stop. If you really thought that then you are an accomplice since you are not taking up arms to put a stop to it.

I've said this many times but it's hard to fault Ilitch in some ways with the first 10 years of owning the Tigers. He didn't have any baseball contacts. He hires John McHale Jr, a well respected guy around the league. The keep the early 90 teams propped up a bit then start over. He hires Randy Smith, son of Tal. Respected baseball family. He hires Buddy Bell. Respected baseball family. On the face that sounds like a solid foundation. The near .500 ish seasons of 1997 and 2000 were bad things in retrospect. Gave just enough of an appearance that maybe things were moving in the right direction. Buddy Bell was fired because he confronted Smith, wanting an extension, and Smith pointed to the record, and Buddy says "These guys all suck". Randy says "Maybe it's not them, maybe it's you." It was them.

I think that's the case. Avila's reign can be split into two paths. Mike Ilitch alive and Mike Ilitch dead.
