I'm not clear what Gretchan did wrong.

I’m not bothered at all by what Whitmer did today. She’s doing her job for her constituents. Our state is particularly affected due to the autos. Just like I wasn’t bothered when Chris Christie was with a Obama right before the 2012 election. Republicans bashed him for it.

In a way we might wish he could, and wants to run again. He’s in serious IDGAF mode. Because he doesn’t have to. He only cared about his supporters when he needed their votes. They have nothing to offer him anymore. He’s always been transactional.

It's baseball. The best teams lose 3 times a week and 12-13 times a month. Water finds its level. Yada yada yada

That's a good take. I like to think about bands that were "ruined" by things like that. Especially our generation with MTV. It did great things for certain careers and made them rich but unless people dig deeper they miss out on some great music by focusing just on the songs they know from videos. Took me years to discover how great a band like ZZ Top or the Cars were once you dig deeper.... and by golly Stevie Winwood. FOr the first half of my life he was the "back in the high life again" guy, which I love as a song.... but that was it. THe mid 80's guy with his suit jacket sleeve rolled up with a mullet. I think he's severely underrated. I"m not saying he's a hidden gem because a lot of people love him once they know.

When Alan Mulally left Boeing and went to Ford, got push back from one of the VP's there implying he didn't understand the challenge of quality issues.. "Look, our cars have thousands of parts, if they don't work it breaks down" "That's nice. At Boeing our airplanes have millions of parts and if they don't work they fall out of the sky and people die"

I prefer Bob Cole’s Day-Troy-it.

Last year I was selected to be the fan of the game where they put me in good seats, introduced me on the board, and I had to pick a walk up song. I went with Sabatoge.

We had this same conversation on opening day. Wife said "That's his parents music" and I corrected her and said "That's his grandparent's music... remember, these players could now be our kid". Which prompted a discussion on whether Dave Mathews Band is GenX's version of Jimmy Buffet?

I thought the same thing. Umpire has a “it’s cold and nobody wants to be here” strike zone.

The Yankees bitch more than any other team in the history of baseball

Our portion sizes are too large and we're a consumer culture. There's also an element of not being wasteful and "eat everything on your plate" as a thing of honor instead of eating until you are full. "Starving kids in China" etc. My special needs son will eat anything you put in front of him, especially vegetables, but is good at stopping when he's full. But if you tell him to eatmore, he will. Plenty of times we've had to correct my mohter in law for trying to make him "eat all of his fries" No. He's fine. We have too many restaurants and other eateries and they have to compete with each other. Even when I was a kid 40 years ago eating out was a rare thing. I admit it myself, I get lunch on Tuesday from my favorite local deli, a breakfast on Friday morning from our bagel place. We go out as a family most Saturdays, and when I visit my mom on Sunday I get her Taco Bell because she's 95 and needs to eat something hearty and their power bowls are good for her. I walk across the street to KFC and get a chicken sandwich. Mobil apps are awesome. But now we have door dash and uber eats teaching young peole they can get anything they want whenever and it'll cost more but they've normalized that cost. So they're being wasteful and unhealthy for a barely warm meal from Chipotle.

I've been in the lobby of the Tiger offices a few times. You go thru security (everybody goes thru, I watched players from the Padres, Max Clark and family the day he signed, TV people, etc. have to put all their crap in the thing like at the airport. So I stand there and watch this while waiting for someone and there's a set of stairs that takes you up to the offices. let's just say that anybody wearing a skirt that goes up or down those stairs or stands on the platform above is taking a risk of showing everybody their business. Not a design a woman would have done. I wasn't doing anything important.... I had a ticket situation to resolve because of a snafu on their end and only the ticket rep could resolve it so I was waiting on him.

The Sam Menzin story is now out there. There was something after all. What a turd. But also not a good look on what the woman quoted saying as far as the org not being a place women felt comfortable reporting these things.

I'm getting similar vibes as with the Fletch remake. Not bad..... but not the same. Arguments over which was better is a matter of taste and expectations. The movie was closer to the book in my opinion.

It's very similar to Little Caesar's Arena. They put the best seats with the best perks (access to a club with all you can eat/drink) in the prime viewing angle. Those seats are not cheap. I have a friend with a suite at LCA and he was telling me the whole schmoozing thing is, while not outdated, is limited now. Many corporations have rules on who you can go to these things with and how often and what you can accept. Booze is forbidden in many cases. Especially in the auto industry which is Michigan. He had no use for these things and they had to move their 4 seats (down from 16 ten years ago to give you an idea) to make room for these. When I'm fortunate enough to get to use his suite at LCA it's limited to pizza and soft drinks. Obviously you'd like the Tigers did their homework on demand to make such an investment but I know they are not sold out. And when I look at other stadiums that have done this those seats are not always full either. I'm not sure we can make a judgement yet considering we've had 3 games to judge and it's been cold.

I won’t claim to be an expert but I don’t see what more time in the minors does for him. **** or get off the pot. I’m not criticizing him. Baseball is hard. The other teams, even the bad ones, are best than what he would see down there.

Jobe isn’t fooling anybody.

Yes thanks for doing this. It is appreciated

Hopefully Riley didn’t do something having to stop so suddenly.

I’m confused. Is the insinuation that any political angle about what’s happening is inappropriate? Or a “both sides” thing? Because this hasn’t happened before where trillions are immediately wiped out due to a specific and unprovoked action by a president. This isn’t a reaction to some long brewing situation that popped. It isn’t a water leak. It was the opening of a fire hose.

I never paid that song much attention until I heard an acoustic version. Sometimes you need to hear it different to register. Especially classic rock that I have heard my whole life tnat it becomes background noise, like airplanes because I grew up near the airport.

That linked article is just one persons speculation though. I didn’t see any quotes or sourcing to suggest any inside info.

On the surface it seems weird. But depending on what he could have been responsible for then the start of the season could make sense. He’s been with them for a long time. Maybe he was fulfilled and wants to move on.

154 games won’t net much in terms of better weather. And they are not going to force teams to play a lot of home games in April because they are in a dome or warmer climate
