  1. They did move their game to 8 pm, not sure that does anything except delay some Wings early birds..... I've been to a few Tiger Sunday games when the Lions played at home and it was crazy but.... what is Ford Fied capacity? Figure 45K for the Tigers and 20K for the Wings. I could see someone with tickets to the Wings but not the Tigers making an all day thing of it. The Tigers are having a block party that requires a security screening but no ticket. They started doing that on Fridays this summer, the streetin front of Comerica is blocked off and you go thru metal detectors a lot further back. The Wings then have something set up in the plaza by LCA.
  2. The other thing to consider, if anybody reading this is going to be there... there's crowded games. Then there's opening day crowded games. Then there's playoff crowded games. It will be very packed. The lines to get in will be long. The lines for the bathrooms will be long. Even with a mid week afternoon game it's late enough that many people can get out of work early and the weather looks great. So plan accordingly. Don't show up at 2:30 expecting to see first pitch. I booked parking about a 1/2 mile away for $10. It's showing as $45 now on the app.
  3. In HS we had a friend who's dad did that kind of work. He had the cones in his pole barn. We took them and sealed off Dearborn Hts. (other than Telegraph Road).
  4. It's been well over 10 years since Comerica Park will have a game like this in terms of excitement and anticipation. The playoff game in 2014 was a complete dud. The team was down 0-2 already and there were a lot of empty seats. The Lions were playing across the street and I'd say 1/3 of the fans were engaged in that. It was as exciting as an April 15 game on Wednesday afternoon during 45 degree snow flurries.
  5. I’ve wondered that too and I think it’s just down to having different crews that do different jobs on the same site/job. Not to mention the setup/tear down people. I’m sure they are busy going around to different places rather than staying nearby on one site all the time moving cones etc. The crews that does the actual work isn’t the same crew that opens or closes lanes. It’s easier for scheduling to just say “close the right lane on I “whatever” for 7 miles between these two exits. Might also be easier for the crews to navigate within the site having that lane clear for them. That said…. Near me is the Lions practice facility. I’d say for 9 months now there’s been the center and left lane closed on this road, for about 100 yards. It’s coned with an arrow sign. No work has been done. It’s the kind of closure that you would expect centered around a line of some sort. It’s isolated. I’ve never seen anybody working there. It’s right near an entrance/exit for two facilities, the Lions and a Ford building. It’s only an issue during rush hours. Part of me thinks a crew was told to set it up, so they did, and whoever is supposed to do the work didn’t get instructions. I also know that DTE is notorious for asking for things like that but taking their time getting to the job. I think it’s a county road.
  6. The photo is a lot nicer when your team wins obviously. It’s a great story.
  7. I think they are hiding him. He’s declined this summer. I legit believe that.
  8. They have to pay tribute with their playoff shares which went up and may go up again.
  9. Real cy young contenders pitch more than one inning.
  10. If they had called it a trap and Cleveland challenged they wouldn’t have overturned it.
  11. I think it’s a catch. Could have gone either way on the field and the call but you can’t overturn it.
  12. We have early voting so we will be doing that. It’s in a location we go to all the time. I’m off on Election Day so I thought of going then but I figure save that spot in line for someone else who may not know about early voting. Make if less congested.
  13. So tonight I was hanging out with a cousin who is from macomb. Near the end of the night political ads came on as we came inside and watched the michigan game. During the lamenting of the proliferation of commercials it came out that isn’t voting for trump. He’s a lifelong Republican. He said his mom, he is a cousin by marriage so we don’t know her, ran the macomb gop for years. The issue for him was abortion overall. He was the same with the MI Governor race. He wasn’t a fan of Whitmer. But no way on Tudor. I don’t know qnd didn’t ask if he’s voting for Harris. I didn’t ask as the conversation was high level and polite.
  14. I mean…. Come on. Cleveland is a good team. They want to win too. It’s not always about what our guys did wrong.
  15. I’m going to keep watching because it’s Oct 5 and my team is playing. That’s a blessing. And I can drink beer guilt free.
  16. On the McKinstry play I wonder if he lost it in a glare off a shirt in the stands or something. Maybe it had some topspin. Bright sunny days this time of year creates weird sun angles.
  17. Guessing Montero will get a lot of innings tofay.
  18. Mickey Mouse broadcast doesn’t show player intros.
  19. I get it about sparky. But I can’t look past the reverence his former players had for him. Tram and Gibby especially. Travis Fryman named his son George in his honor. That has to mean something doesn’t it?
  20. I would not be surprised if the league tries to clamp down on it to be honest. Something that depresses offense is bad to the overlords. I don’t know how the logic would work but if the Tigers opponents complain enough about it not being fair to the hitters to not see the same pitcher twice then there could be movement.
  21. I wouldn’t be surprised if at least 7-8 guys on this roster do not finish 2025 with the team. Thats baseball. You can’t project lineups a year out.
  22. I forgot about the frustration of not knowing the game times for home games until the last possible minute. Wednesdays game has no official start time yet. Makes it hard to plan. I’m pretty sure it’s a 4:00 start since the Yanks are in it. But there could be came 4 for Phillies and Mets that they put on too. Tigers could get stuck with the 1 o clock game. first world problems I know. But baseball is unique in doing this. God forbid fans get to watch 2 games at once.
  23. Not sure this is as meaningful as it sounds. The playoffs have existed since 1969 and they were in the same division every year except for 4 years when the wild card era came about before the Tigers moved to the AL Central. Their only opportunity was during the wild card era and for much of that time they wouldn’t have met until the LCS. They never played the white sox in the playoffs either or the Mariners and they’ve been around since the divisional era came about.
