  1. I’ve never been happier to have my CC charged $900. baseball on my birthday next week. So much for wanting Baltimore.
  2. Guess Hinch knows what he’s doing again.
  3. The way Hinch manages means he will always be second guessed when they don’t make the plays.
  4. I can’t watch with the audio like this. You hear before you see
  5. Is he gonna finish it? We could see a legend in the making right now.
  6. Don’t know if they meant just Detroit proper as to distinguish between the Detroit area but he went to Wayne State and there’s nice housing there. Also corktown and west village. Boston Edison and Indian village may still be out of his price range… for now. But there’s plenty of places in Detroit for a young white guy to fit in.
  7. According to Dan he makes his offseason home in downtown Detroit.
  8. people that have to let us know every single time they are at the aiport.... and bonus points for those who have to emphasize they are in the Delta Club.
  9. So here's some useless trivia for you. In the movie Apollo 13, Jim Lovell, played by Tom Hanks, the mega star, says "Houston we have a problem". In reality this is how it played out and what the quotes were. Jack Swigert, "Ok, Houston, we've had a problem here" Then the CAPCOM asks him to repeat what he said, then Jim Lovell comes on and says "Ah, Houston.... we've had a problem". Similar to Empire Strikes Back and the I am Your Father quote that is misquoted. Carry On.
  10. I agree. Bar was low. He didn’t hurt himself. Walz has nowhere to go but down so he couldn’t help himself and JD didn’t really hurt himself all that much. The only potential sound bite from this evening is about Mike Pence.
  11. This debate is boring….
  12. And someone will bitch about it. People complained last year when there were so many “upsets”.
  13. The last time we felt like this was game 1 of the 2013 ALCS. Since then it's been catch up. This might be the high point of the season... and I'm ok with that.
  14. Now I am nervous. That’s the kind of thing to fire up a team.
  15. Do you bring him back?
  16. I don't know how much success he'll have but I like that this is being pushed and we can get some heat on the league's association with gambling.
  17. Chris Sale left off Atlanta's roster... I thought his issues yesterday was a ruse.
  18. This is weird. I'm working from home and have it on both TV's. In the TV in my office, I use a roku streaming stick and the Xfinity app, no cable box, but I can hear the TV in the main room. There's different commercials between the ABC on the box and the ABC on the streaming stick, both being Xfinity broadcasts. Maybe the box is market specific and the stick is generic.
  19. There’s hardly anybody there it looks like. I heard cheers for AJ and the other Tigers.
  20. agree. All of my bashing on Pete is centered around his gambling on baseball and the reds and his lack of contrition and remorse and repeated denials. I don't think about the other stuff. Not dismissing it but I don't have the energy or desire to litigate every famous athlete or entertainer's behavior.
  21. So... is ABC going to air the game or the Israel/Iran coverge?
  22. and in further context... a young man from Georgia... he might have even been considered... progressive?
  23. The thing with Rose and the rape.... where do we draw the line between the people in our chosen hobbies and their personal life? Should I quit listening to Led Zeppelin and Elvis and perhaps Don Henly and pretty much every rock star into the 00's....? Should I never watch Chinatown or The Usual Suspects or the X Men movies? Rape of this nature (meaning "consensual" underage sex, I put it in quotes because legally you can't consent if underage) in entertainment was massive and touches a lot of people who's work we love. This is not meant to be a rhetorical question and I don't pretend to know the answer. Just throwing it out there that if someone wants to praise Pete Rose the baseball player and doesn't feel the need to ignore his athletic feats I won't hold it against them because I still listen to Led Zeppelin and all of that other stuff.
  24. Wonder if the fans will give AJ more boos than they would normally give the opposition? That way they can project that the stain of 2017 is his fault, and not the players they continue to cheer on.
  25. I'm not sure where I first heard it but the hope is one day we'll look back on gambling and sports like we do when we see old photos, even from the 90's, with a big Marlboro ad in the background on the scoreboard.
