So now Tork's here to complicate things. I figured he'd have a big spring.
-
Genius's have their quirks you know
-
In theory he was a perfect fit here. That's why the Tigers went all in. But he's a pure pull hitter that took advantage of Houston's short porch and will do the same in Boston. Bregman doesn't have enormous power. Comerica would have frustrated him, anyway. In fact, he made the right choice.
-
They have to concentrate on getting pitchers here. Sluggers will rarely want to hit in Comerica unless its godly money. Sign Skubal

Veryzer was panned by fans and writers and I believe even Kaline as an announcer for having a pot belly. Thing is he was highly prized when drafted and did well in the minors. Just couldn't hit like he showed in early career. Also mentioned Danny Meyer. There was a pitcher who I can't remember refused to go out to pitch unless they took out Meyer in right field because he was that bad. Leon Roberts had ONE half a good season and then washed up after traded to the Astros..

I remember Charley Batch for the Lions one year had the highest qbr for the season in one game and maybe all time at near 100%. He went like 13-16 for 180 yards! Just this week, Jackson for the Ravens had a 99+% qbr while going 15-18 for 260. On the other hand Joe Burrow went 39-49 for 415 and 5 td's and 0 int. yet his qbr was in the 70's. It's just a nerdy metric founded on the faults of the qb rating system.
-
What's logical and what will really happen are two different things. You sit people and get bounced and the coaching staff will have a hard time getting mentally prepared next week vs. the most important game of the season.
-
This game wasn't close. I don't care what the score was
-
You can't sit everybody and lose big. And then expect to come back the next week like it never happened. Dan ain't that type of coach, anyway. He wants to keep positive momentum going.
-
I'd like Bregman but if not..
-
I still don't want to give up on Torkelson. I could see him going somewhere else and hitting 40 dingers. Remember Carlos Pena. Same situation

Week Fifteen: Buffalo Bills (10-3) @ Detroit Lions (12-1)
Klondike replied to MichiganCardinal's topic in Detroit Lions
I know. And I was told for the last ten days that just wait and see the Bill's are due for a down game. They played flawless offense for 2 straight games and Allen has been GOAT material. Well, that didn't happen. -
Week Fifteen: Buffalo Bills (10-3) @ Detroit Lions (12-1)

It was a lame game coming off a 10 day rest to be honest. It seemed like they conceded a loss right from the get go -
Week Fifteen: Buffalo Bills (10-3) @ Detroit Lions (12-1)
Klondike replied to MichiganCardinal's topic in Detroit Lions
It was a game they couldn't afford to STICK with anything. They got behind 14-0 early and the defense didn't exist so running the ball out of the gait and scoring big early was imperative. They were owned on both lines all game. -
Week Fifteen: Buffalo Bills (10-3) @ Detroit Lions (12-1)

They haven't run well the last couple of games. It's actually quite discerning considering the Bill's were suppose to be terrible against the run. -
Week Thirteen: Chicago Bears (4-7) @ Detroit Lions (10-1)
Klondike replied to MichiganCardinal's topic in Detroit Lions
It's two weeks in a row of mediocre offense play. They really have to dial it up because the defense is very limited at this point through injuries and the offense has to find their mojo. Next week in only 7 days, vs. GB so no time to heal. -
American League Division Series Game #5 (2-2) 1:08PM 10/12/24
Klondike replied to Tigeraholic1's topic in Game Threads
Typical guardians crap. How I hate them -
So Sweeny could ground out. Not what you want from your so called muscle man in the line up

They lost that fire after Fridays clincher
-
No. Just a very apathetic way to end the season getting hosed perhaps the worst team in history. Like, where's that fire that was there on Friday and before. Who wants to go into the playoffs with this attitude 🙄
-
Tiger's now #2 in team ERA. The team effort has worked this season. Skubal leads with over 170 innings but the next pitcher has 106. That's amazing into September and have the second best era.
