  1. One down. Only 211 more to reach Tiger's best Lance Parrish for a catcher.
  2. The Dingler strikes!
  3. You know your offense is pretty bad when by mid August, your leading RBI guy has 51. Sad, because even with the recent pitching injuries, they are still keeping them in games. There are AAA teams that are better than this current Tiger roster.
  4. I hate reality
  5. I'm sure Hinch will tip his cap to the Sux pitcher
  6. So let me get this straight. 13 runs on Saturday and 5 home runs. Then the next 4 games, no more than 1 run with only 3 extra base hits and no home runs. it's enough to keep me up nights. Can't believe the team is worse now without Baez, as well.
  7. they're #1 in triples. Maybe they should get the best triple guys and lead the league in triples and sac flies, Harris will have something to brag about.
  8. It was fun ragging on Tork all the time. Now who? sorta tired of Baez bashing. although apt. there's just not many players that are either overrated or underproducing. all of them are just 'another journeyman players'.
  9. they scored 4. Announcer's seem to think that a ton and should be enough to win most games. Evehy!
  10. I agree. Even if it's not this year. He seems to be one of the few hitters who goes to the plate with a plan of what to do. Like Rod Carew said, 'If you don't have a good plan and idea on how to hit you won't succeed" . Not his exact words but close.
  11. the problem with this line up is there's too many Colt Kieth's. although a solid singles hitter, the Tigers have to scrape three singles together to get a run. that's tough to do to win a lot of games. they did it earlier, but most teams have guys who can score in bunches with power. Big difference.
  12. One more note on Kaline. Remember him saying, he had a lot of homers wiped out because of rain outs. Like 8 or so which included one of his 29 season's.
  13. Matty Nokes hit 32 in 87'. never forget.
  14. I believe he was leading the league in the triple crown before he got hurt. one year, anyway would have been legend. Also, Kirk Giibson was hurt one season and had 27 hr's in like 120 games.
  15. Well, that makes everything all right... Go Miggy!
  16. Why do the Tiger's play so abysmal at home. Besides that hr by Meadows and the GS by Carpenter, the team seams to play with more verve on the road.
  17. Didn't do any worse than the other ones.
  18. To be honest, they could use some help. the rest of the team isn't doing much. those 2 are carrying this team.
  19. I remember Hasse hitting a few clutch bombs vs. the Indians. Always hit well against his former team.
  20. I miss Hasse already. Not that he was great shakes this season but you know the pitchers knew Hasse well. and he proved to be a 20-25 hr guy. meanining, probably will hit better the rest of the season compared to this other guy Kelly. Maybe not, but try to convince me the new guy is a lot better than Hasse will be the rest of the way.
  21. Hard to believe that's not a homer at Coors and Wrigley. Also, what stats Tork would put up at Fenway if he played there.
  22. good to see the Tiger's use Fenway Park to an advantage. Hit high flies to left... not deep flies to cavernous right field.
  23. Yeah, I think the shadow got in his eyes..
  24. Is it too much to ask our manager to chirp just a little to defend his player after such a blatant bad call..
  25. isn't it about time Hasse did something. Like, anything positive. Lately, even his handling of pitchers isn't up to snuff, compared to Rogers.
