  1. Yeah, the hype died quickly. I just turned it off.
  2. Verlander vs Scherzer tonight should be fun.
  3. One of the advantages of being 5' and 120lbs
  4. Oh wow, I guessed it on the nose. Based on the other sentences that were handed out, I predicted he'd get 22 years.
  5. Duke played a great game but Clemson still shot itself in the foot pretty much every chance they got. Another thing, that targeting call on the 4th down play that didn't allow Clemson to retain possession because it was considered a dead ball foul is such a stupid rule. That pretty much ended any thoughts of a Clemson comeback.
  6. Wyoming wins it in Double OT. Fun game, glad I stayed up.
  7. Oh boy, you sure got me. I'll never recover from being wrong about the score of a football game.
  8. JJ's trail foot was right on the line when the ball was released and you need to remember that the red line is not official or part of what the official is looking at. Makes sense to me that they stayed with the call on the field but at the same time, I would have been okay with them overturning the call.
  9. It has been hilarious how Fox has been hyping up Colorado when TCU is favored by 21 points and will probably win by more.
  10. Yeah, adding Rutgers is really working out well. https://theathletic.com/4748780/2023/08/07/big-ten-realignment-rutgers/?source=user_shared_article
  11. You think Rutgers, Maryland, and a few others are making money for the TV contracts? Not a chance. Washington State and Oregon State would certainly bring in more than some of the leeches already in the conference. As for claiming Washington and Oregon were a stretch, that's just silly, especially in the case of Oregon.
  12. They talk about it here...... https://ground.news/rating-system#factualityCategory The Ground News factuality score is an assessment of the reporting practices of a news publication. The score is based on the average rating of three rating systems: Ad Fontes Media, Media Bias Fact Check and Wikipedia. The score takes into consideration things like the credibility of sources used, the speed at which corrections are made, and whether the language retains context. This score does not measure the factuality of specific news articles. The analysis is done at the publication level. You might come across a news publication that has not been rated by one or two of these organizations, in which case we take an average of the ratings available. Some news organizations don’t have any ratings, and therefore aren’t included in the Factuality Score. These ratings are updated on an ongoing basis.
  13. I feel so bad for Oregon State and Washington State, both are good universities with respectable football programs and everyone is treating them like they're toxic. I'd like to see the B1G take them so we can have two 10 team divisions. Would also make the name "Big 10" actually relevant again if you named the divisions Big 10 east and Big 10 west.
  14. Yeah, I like this one too. Thanks!
  15. Putting aside the ratings, I still like the layout showing how various outlets are covering the same topic.
  16. They use a LLCRR scale for rating and the AP falls in between left and center. The problem I found is that they are letting users rate the sources. They should really just go with ratings from an independent source rather than letting the votes of the users account for a portion of the final rating.
  17. How exactly did the judge get played? Stupid people are going to say stupid things, that doesn't mean the judge should immediately double the sentence out of spite.
  18. Trump spent another night melting down on his failed social media platform. I love the point being made that Trump is bragging about how rich he is while at the same time asking the rubes to donate more.
  19. I'm pretty sure Nebraska built their stadium on an Indian burial ground or something.
  20. My favorite part is at the end when she tells him she's been standing there the whole time.
  21. On the subject, this is an interesting news site that I just stumbled across. They post articles that are considered, left, right and center on the news of the day. https://www.allsides.com/unbiased-balanced-news
  22. Elon should really consider a name change.
  23. Come on 7pm, hurry up and get here!!! I am jonesing for some college football!
  24. Both sides are biased, even most people here are admitting that. There's nothing else to be gained from arguing with a bunch of MSNBC fanboys, I'm done talking about them. As I said in my first comment, I recommend people tune into News Nation if you happen to have it on your cable package. By far the most neutral, non-biased network there is at the moment.
  25. Whataboutism is whataboutism.
