I have family there as well, and have been there and down town there any number of times. Portland is fine. It has/had a fairly severe homeless problem but it was hardly unique on the west coast for that.

I don't know if we ever saw a full strength SGL this season, and he has now collected so many injures maybe we never will. I was at 5/3rd the night he struck out everyone and his brother for the Hens. He looked pretty exciting at that point.

Are you sure they don't need the money right now? I doubt half the teams in the league are truly profitable even if the top ones are. Notable they don't mention Acker's public opposition to the early outlines of the deal. If it needs to be unanimous and Acker doesn't change his mind and the other Dems on the UM Regents vote with him, it's going to be dead.

You are correct tactically, but emotionally it doesn't get much better in the NFL today than sticking it to KC.

Underwood has incredible throwing talent, can throw back against the grain better than anyone they have had since Henson. But Henson is exactly the question about Underwood - does he have it between the ears or not? Sadly Henson didn't, though the team could have done worse than get Tom Brady as the consolation prize. Aside from his processing, Underhill needs to work on touch -he's rocketing too often on short throws where he needs to give his receivers half a chance. My interest in college football has been at an all-time low, but watching to see how Underhill develops is keeping me interested for now.

but the leadership won't put a bill on the floor that could find consensus or negotiate to consensus. That's what legislating is supposed to about. They could easily put a bill on the floor that would attract enough Dems and hold enough Repubs to pass easily, but they won't, because they are all afraid of being primaried by the fringes, whose power is amplified in primaries because of big money and that nobody votes in them. We basically get what we deserve as voters.

I would actually say a lot more. Vote out his enabling article one branch and he will be largely contained.

Oddly, the guy who could be starting to run hot is McKinstry, and he's pretty good when he's on a streak. I also like Torkelson going to RF on fastballs again. Now I just wish he would stop taking 1st pitch heaters down the middle. When the Tiger O was struggling there was a lot of mention that as team they took more 1st pitch strikes than anyone. They've been falling into that trap again. In game 3 even Pierzinski noticed how many 1st pitch strikes they were taking. Driving pitch counts is good, but you can go overboard killing your O doing it. The best way to drive pitch count is don't make outs.
