  1. You can already see the difference in how this year's light, trimmer Schoop goes to his right!
  2. I don't know what value level SY puts on making the playoffs this season and/or how much he is willing to sacrifice whatever trade value he'd be giving up in a pending UFA to be all in to do it, but I am more confident that a 5 game stretch is not what changes his mind about the situation one way or the other.
  3. I saw a tweet yesterday from one of the OSINT types that wondered about a high level of airborn NATO recon activity he had observed over Poland up to the Ukraine border. Guess now he knows why.
  4. meanwhile you hear that Pootin is traveling around in a tank for protection.
  5. On 'JR they would always say "broadcasting from the golden tower of the Fisher Bldg", but those were the studios, AM is generally too long a wave to broadcast from a dipole on top of a bldg. At that freq you normally have some kind of array strung out across a large area. IIRC WJR's transmitter was(is?) in one of the downriver 'burbs.
  6. Oddly enough - if Hinch only played him twice a week there might be a chance for him to stay productive enough for it not to be so painful to watch. If you decide to cap him at 200AB going in you have a shot a 200 decent AB. Let him start playing consecutive days you are sure to get last year over again.
  7. it's very likely going to look just like last year. He'll hit for a little average, maybe a couple of HRs, then at some point, probably still relatively early in the season, the knee will reach its limit of use, any remaining power will go, and his OPS will crater though he might still manage a 300 OB
  8. LOL - the solution to the Cabrera 'problem' is for Kerry Carpenter to hit....
  9. Just keep in mind that we only have one hack's word for what another hack thinks about that, not SY's.
  10. Doesn't help that what started out as a 'day to day' with Raymond has turned into worse.
  11. I suppose it was in the interests of Ukraine and its supporters to portray the future at defcon 2 terms at least up through the Munich conference.
  12. I suppose sweeping a West coast trip was never in the cards. And having to go from one coast to the other to play the Caps three days later without coming home seems like cruel scheduling so I'm not real hopeful about a bounce back for that game.
  13. In other news, it's reported the Russians are about done with repairs to the Kerch bridge.
  14. Plus, you never know. I didn't think they'd be able to get a role of friction tape for Leddy the way he was playing for us last year but the Blues took him.
  15. it's interesting that if you are listening to the US MSM, you would probably have the impression that the Ukrainians are scrambling to prepare for an upcoming ramped up Russian offensive - while if you are listening to guys like Kofman, the story is that the Russians have already ramped up about as far as they are capable of going - the offensive is already ongoing, and that if the Russians cannot make major gains now (which they do not appear to be doing) it will likely be the Ukrainians back on the offensive in few months with the Russians having pretty much exhausted themselves-again. And of course the reason for the Russians driving themselves into a likely inferior strategic situation? The political imperative from Putin.
  16. I don't care if he trades it or just is just waiting to prove to himself all he can do is cut it, it as long as it goes.....🤷‍♂️
  17. I'm hoping pretty desperately that SY is trying to clear some deadwood and that we are going to get some addition by subtraction for the deadline. 🤞
  18. Wings give up 1st goal. Pretty weak one at that.
  19. Hoover and Truman were still alive when I was kid. But they were both pretty well kept in the closet by their respective parties. 🙈🙉🙊
  20. So Nolan now finds himself a political orphan? So Sad. Can't think of a guy I will cry for less.
  21. Just spitballing here, but maybe another way things fall apart for Putin is if the regional authorities stop sending recruits. With the Russian Army nearly 100 committed they could be losing the leverage to coerce the hinterlands. Now in point of fact, the poverty out there has been enough that the money being offered has been enough draw even with the risk of ended up dead, but if reports about the Russian gov welching on payments are true, maybe it's someting to speculate on.
  22. which is good because the rest of his bod looks pretty porky.
  23. I was actually curious and pulled up Russian demographic numbers - (per the Wiki). As of 2021 census, the total number of Russian men between 18 and 40 was about 20 Million. Of those about 6M are between 18 and 26 (traditional US draftable age for comparison) - fertilitly dropped off a lot after 1990. Of those, it's estimated 500K draft age men have left Russia since mobilization began.
  24. Let's hope consensus turns into more than talk. I have this fantasy that in a few weeks we will learn out that 200 Ukrainain pilots have been training on F-16s in secret all over Europe. Unfortunately I don't think is it more than a fantasy.
  25. yeah - hoover was of service during the war but got to be a crank later.
