    Funny I don't remember the 2018 Gub. primary much at all. I guess there are years when I know that the chance of anything 'the other guy' does could change my mind are so small I basically don't pay any attention to them. But now that you jogged my memory I remember the party switch, etc...

    One of Scully's great skills (and Ernie's FTM) was he could translate excitement without shouting. He'd just pitch a little higher and that was all you needed to know the action had picked up. As good as Dickerson is, that would be my one critique - he shouts into the mic too often when the action is exciting. Scully's approach was more artful for radio.

    He's seems very steady - no 4/4s but very few 0/4. Only 2 games in July without a hit. Doesn't walk much though.

    Avila has said repeatedly that one of his priorities was finding guys that strike out less and walk more. Like everything else with Al, it's not his objectives, it's his execution.

    fair question.. Whether throwing at FCL or the like would count as throwing competitive innings I wouldn't speculate. Obvious he is going to continue doing some kind of throwing

    I think that is off the table. Well - Hinch thinks it is anyway. The way he talked about 'not being in the room' on the trade negotiations was interesting.

    That should be it for Manning. He kept his team in it even with the questionable D behind him. Like Hongbit noted, we need to see the velo get better, but at least he's pitching again.

    He's was coining off TJ, so last year you could cut him some slack on the arm for maybe not having rehabbed it thoroughly enough, but that's no excuse this season. No way you can play OF in the big leagues if you can't do better than those last two. He's getting his shot and blowing it.
