  1. dya think the relievers got together before this game and made a blood brother's pact to all look bad together?
  2. bottom line though, ungovernable country proves ungovernable. No doubt Afg is tragic. Plenty of doubt we were ever actually going to change that. If there is a fault, it's not enough exit visas provided. If you can't make the country good enough for the people, at least let as many of the good people out as you can.
  3. got gas for $3.95 today. (well I cheated a little, had some Kroger points)
  4. In the immortal worlds of Dandy Don, "Turn out the lights, this party's over...."
  5. Fulmer's seems to be a good dude, maybe not the sharpest knife in the drawer....
  6. shake off your catcher 3 times, give up a hit on 0-2 to load the bases
  7. word order in English is important. Skubal really came to the dugout after the screw-up at 2b and said "I'm tired of this shit". Hinch thought he said, "Shit, I'm tired", and took him out.
  8. the irony is that it may well have been the US withdrawal that led Zawahri to let his guard down enough to be hit.
  9. they were shifted to the left side. It was the 2b walking away with his back to the runner.
  10. my bad, that was Schoop. I thought by the body style it was Harold, who is at 1b of course. Harold does go to sleep on plays though.....
  11. that's one of the things that keeps Harold from being a viable everyday player. He just goes to sleep on occasion. Doesn't excuse the bad throw, but the play should never have happened.
  12. That was a long time coming. Note to Putin on US attention span.
  13. He was batting a buck fifty last time I looked.
  14. Making room for a minor league addition? Robson (and Mariot) are gone also apparently. Toledo OF is getting a bit thin.
  15. I love Soto's arm, but if I were trading for him, his career walk rate would be a red flag. It's a little better this season, but any scout watching would know that that is only because he's not trying the throw his slider much recently. He's living on pure velo, which is great, but how many more seasons can a 27 yr old guy throw 100? Maybe Greg is a freak and can keep it up. We hope so. But if he loses a couple of MPH he needs that slider and are you then looking at 5.5BB/9IP again? That's the kind of calculus that you hope doesn't sway a GM if you are trying to trade him!
  16. Likewise. With the conventional wisdom being that relievers are unreliable, Hader now has a 4 yr track record, and he doen't walk as many as Soto.
  17. two came near the end of outing, he had one BB at the end of 3 IP. He's probably rates as the longest of long shots in their system now, but in a season like this that's the kind of stuff I find it entertaining to check in on.....
  18. Tales from the Crypt: Franklin Perez 3.2 IP, 1H 1ER 3BB 4K
  19. I'm going so I can vote for all the anti-Chris Taylor dems on the city ballot.
  20. Maybe it's been there for him for so long it's become like background. The family has owned the Wings all of his adult life, the Tigers now for 30 yrs. I wonder if for C I "there is always next year" is cooked into his world view and he is too zen about to be the more aggressive owner people want. And if the team is on a reasonable financial footing the just reduces urgency even more.....
