  1. I think you will. He's played in 6 games since getting back into the lineup at Toledo and has 4 hits and 5 walks for a 346 OBP which I'd take as a decent sign he's seeing the ball better. Hasn't found his power yet though.
  2. yeah - he's not likely to maintain a 36% LD rate, but that's OK as he is hitting 350. If his BABIP regresses to his career average (~330) he is still hitting 290. I'll take that with this lineup.
  3. Howard will be next - prolly when Jace's eligibility runs out.
  4. More curse. Sounds like Colt Keith is out for a while. As per Beck, Garko said no surgery, but give his return as 'sometime this season'. Great.
  5. Mikolas loses the no-hitter against the Pirates with two outs and two strikes on the batter in the 9th on a pitch low and on the outside black.
  6. At some point, and we are nearly 200 AB in, you have to reckon with the possibility that it is the org and the Tigers are trying to institute a hitting philosophy which, at minimum, is ill-suited to their personal.
  7. report is that Clemson is giving him $1M/yr, a 2.5X raise. I have trouble seeing UM playing in that $ league for a non-revenue sport.
  8. well, if you want to go radical and break some china? Fire Coolbaugh, cut Grossman and give the OF to Reyes, Cameron (he should be over COVID soon), Greene, Meadows. If Kreidler's hand is holding up you let him challenge Schoop Javy and Candelario for playing time. At catcher they are stuck, there's nothing available. Push Carpenter to AAA and Perez to AA.
  9. Good to know the State of Colorado is going the extra mile to insure there is no unlicensed "Private erotic dancing" going on.
  10. about 4 blocks away a builder bought a very small rundown house and is trying to sell a new >2000 sq ft house built to custom spec on the 0.2 acre lot for $400/sq ft. Needless to say, it hasn't moved yet.
  11. 1 & 2 hitters on base 6 times. 1 run. You can't make it up.
  12. Carpenter with his 21st HR. Has his K rate in June down to 9 in 50PA. OPS still > 1000 W. Perez 2/4 2B. OPS 891
  13. Somebody told Grassley Pence wouldn't be there, but Grassley isn't going to say who or why, assuming he still has enough wit about him to remember, which seems to be questionable.
  14. well certainly Al Avila has been. E Rod, Barnhart, Pineda, Baez, Meadows and the Schoop extension and he is 0/6 on getting a return from any of them.
  15. Dan and Jim have actually spent more time discussing the White Sox than the Tigers. What else can you do?
  16. In the past - esp in the OF, Harold has had a habit of getting a little sloppy. Haven't seen it much this season, but there it was.
  17. In the land of the blind the one-eyed man in king.
  18. at Worcester, Greene with a tough night 0/4 2K, Baddoo with a hit, Kreidler with a triple, Hill 2/4. All for naught, Hens being shut out.
  19. well one mystery resolved, I see Petzold has reported McClendon's absence is just COVID.
  20. well, whether it ends up helping or not, I think you need a new voice talking to these hitters, whether its actual technical help or just a guy that can change the mental outlook/approach, management has to do something just to show they are paying some kind of attention. The last couple of games are the harbinger, the BP has been playing over its head and as it comes down to earth things are going to get really ugly.
  21. Schoop emerged from his funk for a bit in May with a less putrid 681 OPS, but is back under 425 for his June ABs.
  22. "Koch family member" Does that make it a twofer?
