  1. So tonight Manning struck out the side in the 1st inning, then gave up 2 singles and 2 walks and was pulled at 43 pitches with 2 out in the 2nd and 1 run in. I thought he was not supposed to be on a low limit.
  2. two well hit balls, nothing to show.
  3. Correa hit one of Beau's better off-speed pitches.
  4. Brieske just can't throw enough strikes with his off-speed to keep guys honest. Good pitches when he can throw them for strikes, but not enough.
  5. Brieske's change has all kinds of corkscrew to it -- when he can get it over the plate.
  6. yeah - I think Javy just decided to concede the run and keep the man at first. Still, if Willi gets to that ball quicker that solves the problem before it happens.
  7. maybe because of the shift there was no cut-off man where one would normally? No, just watched it again. Javy didn't really go out the where I would have though he should have but even so I don't see why he didn't want WIlli to throw it him. He can still go to 2nd on the relay.
  8. Your improving LF just let a man score from 1st on a single.
  9. If I hear the guys in the both tell me one more time Willi is becoming a better outfielder again just because he handled a can-o-corn, my monitor is gonna be in real danger of instant death.
  10. they were mostly minority kids right? Birth straight to prison - cutting out the middle man - is more of less the white nationalist ideal isn't it?
  11. but isn't it pretty obvious that if killing people becomes harder, people being the lazy azses they are, they will kill a lot fewer people just out of the increased degree of difficulty even if they still aren't particularly morally inhibited?
  12. no one gonna let Willi catch anything they can get instead.
  13. Speaking of Rupert Murdoch - one of the things in the reporting about the Aussie election is that Rupert's Down Under media is losing its political traction. They beat the drums hard for the Liberals (who are the conservatives) to no avail. Then again, Aussie voters seem more capable of learning than US voters - as evidenced by Aussie gun reform.
  14. so have all our arm chair analysts passed their fool proof plans to Zelenskyy for how to evict the Russians who are still moving westward - albeit at a snail's pace.
  15. yeah - if there is a single identifiable point of issue with Hinch's managing, it seems to be managing his roster as though he had players he doesn't. Maybe we can blame Willi Castro in the OF purely on AA, but I doubt it. and Harold Castro's May OPS is under 600.
  16. rational wouldn't be the right word, but even when people are smashed they still have a certain level of animal awareness, and I would think especially wrt cops. I've more than once dealt with people who could barely stand-up but were determined to keep trying to do something they were incapable of doing because they had some fear in their head about the need to do it. It's exactly the same thing as when you can't get a drunk's car keys from him - he's determined he "has" to get to somewhere for some reason. Drunkeness in many people creates a paradoxical mix of high motivation and low capacity - probably why it also leads to so much senseless violence. His impairment was not so high he that he crashed his car or was unable to master his cell phone to make calls.
  17. It does add some potential sense to it though. He's got a dead car on the freeway and he's drunk on his rear. He can't stay with the car because odds are a cop gets there first and he gets nailed on the DUI - the law, the NFL all down on his asz. So he sees his best chance as either getting back to the car with fuel himself or having the cops get there when he's not there, in which case he just stays 'lost' until he's sober. He's probably got just enough wits to realize his legal risk of staying with the car but not enough to function once he takes the decision to leave it.
  18. actually a top defensive SS who averages 1/4 with a little power is generally worth quite a bit - about $170M in today's market.
  19. As the voters seem to be oblivious to the shit-show the GOP has become, It's only been GOP incompetence which is keeping the Republic halfway safe.
  20. He was 2/5 with a double tonight BTW.
  21. the denouement to this story. No surprise, sadly: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/33971836/dwayne-haskins-was-legally-drunk-death-according-toxicology-report
  22. Since there is no intention of stretching out Peralta, Rodriguez isn't even the #5 starter, more like #4. Manning on the schedule for tomorrow with the Hens, best case scenario Rodriguez and Wentz each still get one more start, though they do have two off days week after next which should help.
  23. Grossman's May OBP is 260. Willi has a swinging bunt and a walk for his last 18, Clemens is raking in Toledo. Which of these things doesn't go together?
  24. right. Figured ERod was going to get beat up, disappointing that they got him off the hook and then fell short anyway.
