4-0 lead and the starter is cruising and 2min later you are facing the tying run at the plate. Baseball.

if there has ever been a team whose pitchers mess up at 1B more than the Tigers I'd be surprised. Tork didn't need to field that but that's still no excuse for Chafin.

Cabrera pushes his OPS above 700. This is about when he snapped out of it last season.

Rodriguez can't quite get out of the 7th.

That last scoop by Tork was a very tough one.
-
Torkelson abusing the pull field consistently recently. Just needs a little more elevation and he'd be raking.

Hit off a RHP - woo-hoo

another QS from a Tiger starter.

scoring going to be hard in this game if the k zone stays this big. Anything remotely close inside or low is a strike.

Reyes 2/3 already tonight 2B, HR. Hitting 583 in his 'rehab' /....sigh..../

Manning 57 pitches. 3.2 IP 2H 1ER, 2BB 4K

pretty bad when the old man is your best hitter, but I guess I'll take it.

totally incompetent left fielding by Willi bailed out by Baez. How many break in the wrong directions do they need to see?

Exactly. If you were really a big believer in omnipotent creation this should be an obvious view, i.e. "This is the way it was designed/meant to be". That this logic gets zero consideration only proves that theologically there are a lot more wheels spinning on this issue than the spinners will ever admit to. The more likely anthropological truth is that ever since Humans devised culture, the human male race has suffered a primordial fear of emasculation at the hands of female sexuality and thus it *always* looks for avenues of cultural punishment and suppression, from Witch trials to abortion law to the Burka laws from the Committees on Virtue and Vice's in Islam.

the most I can hope for in my most optimistic moments it that Victor and Clemens are being held at Toledo so they can be absolutely sure before they DFA Willi and/or Harold

But so incomparable that Mike let him walk because of his loyalty to Holland. My point is we are talking about two different people here. Everyone is trying to hang this 'loyalty' meme on C. Ilitch when he has fired one of the two people he inherited and let the other that did stay pretty much clean house completely through all the levels of the org below below his own. To be objective, that doesn't really sound like an owner that suffers much for letting people go. You can turn it around and say that Chris has dumped virtually everyone he inherited in the two sports orgs from Mike except Avila and Heather Nabozny. I mean, how loyal can you be when you even can Sobotka!

Ok then, if it's all belief, then everyone's belief is as good as anyone else's and I guess we have to sit down and work out the best compromises we can through the political process instead of bringing moral absolutism to the table and calling other opinions valueless and calling opponents murders and the like.

Lavarnway == Garneau. they loved Garneau last season and this Spring. Not so much Lavarnway. Is there logic here? Beats me.

Of course not, I've already claimed not to, but I'm not trying to put a particular view into law, you are, so your's is the burden of rational argument to convince other people without invoking your religious beliefs.
-
Gee, little did I know I should claim moral superiority for my views since my grandfather's family was massacred in the Armenian Holocaust.

your reaching with Trammell.. No-one ever thought of Trammell as management potential the way they did Yzerman. What had Trammell done analogous to all the FO relevant work Yzerman had done (team Canada management etc, etc). Trammell's focus was/always has been individual coaching. He was a fish out of water as a manager and a lot of people predicted he didn't have the temperament for it. Even at the time people said that his hire in Det was exactly to be the sacrificial lamb for a bad team.

Serious question then - since you admit this is a belief and not a demonstrable fact, what do you think gives you the right to impose that belief in law on any one else in a religiously free society?
-
No, the premise was that C Ilitch won't fire a long time employee. Prima Facie evidence: he did. You are trying to minimize that by claiming it was an easy hire, well it's always an easy hire when you think the guy you've identified is better, Chris's old man failed to do that because HE - not Chris- was too loyal to Kenny. Not to mention that if you don't think some crazy level of collusion between Chris Ilitch and Steve Yzerman was involved in the rather odd way he parted company with Tampa (that Tampa and the NHL realized was pointless even worry about) I have some nice swampland you might like to see.

Where were you? Lots of people thought they would have been better to keep Yzerman and let Kenny go then if Kenny wouldn't make room for him, and he wouldn't. Yzerman was universally acknowledged as *the* up and coming management prospect that no team could afford to lose. If a management who had Yzerman didn't recognize what they had, how would they ever recognize that in some guy on the outside you want to hire?
