  1. So MSU didn't get across mid-field until the 3rd quarter? That should give Tucker a lot for his team to work on over the by week.
  2. yeah - he and Gary both were more weight room hype than substance on the field. It's not UM's fault if NFL teams fell for it.... But then again, how can you blame players for not progressing playing in a Don Brown defense? Like some some of his players he was more hype than substance as well.
  3. Seider might already be the Wings best player. Vancouver with 13 new players. You wouldn't know it.
  4. Vancouver with some strange strategy - Wings with an empty netter 3-1.
  5. Seider takes the cheap shot, comes right back out and rides his man down from in front of the net when his goalie is down.
  6. Yzerman with all that sandbagging over the summer.."We'll have to wait and see if Moritz is ready to play in the NHL.....". Riiiight.
  7. That's all Trump was doing when he first started running. It was one big donor funded junket - then he won.
  8. Seider makes a great pass up ice to Ganger, Gagner just gives the puck back on a dump with no RedWing even in the area code. Dumb But the Wings draw first blood on a redirect.....
  9. Granted this is true, as far as it goes. But any decent NFL team will also burn you if they correctly anticipate the extra man coming on the rush, and those plays often often go for 6. It's not quite as simple as just sending more guys because you can't get pressure with 4. In the end there is only so much you can scheme to cover for poor personnel.
  10. I wish. The only pitching we'd be likely to get for either Castro would be an upgraded Iron Mike.
  11. I'm getting tagged "new owner doesn't love you."
  12. LOL - yes - we had this discussion with you at the time and you did relax the edit time after some of us moaned and groaned about it. No biggy - being forced to proof read closer is not a bad thing, but I agree with Chasfh, MacOS is terrible about changing words after you've typed them and seen them as what you meant - to where you don't think you need to review. Preferences/keyboard/ uncheck "Correct spelling automatically" and probably also "Capitalize words automatically" !!! (and of course I found a typo in this to correct.....)
  13. It's a higher standard. It's not just about unlikeliness of major illness, it's because students who turn positive still have to quarantine and that puts them out of the classroom and that is enough to create unacceptable dislocation.
  14. This is sort of the funny part - there is whole industry out there that lives by fleecing the pols the fleece the rest of us. Like the mites on the fleas on the dog.
  15. Nafta was only one piece, it was the abdication of skilled production to the orient that killed the middle class, which was populated not by manual laborers but by skilled ones.
  16. Correa would be 37 at the end of a 10yr deal. Assume you are willing to write off/buy out one year, call it 36. How many SS are still useful at 36 and does Correa fit the profile of those that are? Jeter was pretty close to 'generational' and his string of OPS+ >100 years ended at 35, with a decent comeback yr at 38. About the same for Ripken. Do folks think Correa lives in that company?
  17. vaccination rate on campus is 97%, we are all still masked indoors.
  18. Also - at one point last night Smoltz said he's destined for 3rd base....
  19. IDK, did Ilitch feel pressure to up the offer to Max? These things become as much about Millionaire vs Billionaire ego trips as how to systematically deploy dollars for the most wins.
  20. would not disagree. And I won't complain one bit if the Tigers are the one's to pay it, though I'm not in the camp that thinks you have to have superstar players to be the best team so I won't be mad if they don't pay that either.
  21. I thought I read the Astros have already made him an offer in the 5/125 range and that is so far short of his assumed value the conclusion is that there is not much chance of them retaining him. Which should be a cautionary note for other teams. When one of the most successful franchises in recent years is making a value judgment that is something like 100% different than the talking heads, you might stop to ask why. Here is one report that google tossed up where Correa is quoted saying the Astros were 'not even close" https://roxpile.com/2021/10/14/colorado-rockies-houston-astros-carlos-correa-trevor-story/#:~:text=Correa told the media (including,t get close at all.”
  22. what the corps do is not the point - the point is that the value of the modern market is divorced from any classic fundamental analysis, so arguments about how tax policy affect it are non-sequitur.
  23. pretty bush league move at the plate after he hit it though. Do all the posing you like, but do it after you run the bases.
  24. What happened to post season baseball being the high execution level of great teams. The signature of these playoffs is rapidly becoming fielders buckling under pressure like cheap beer cans. Altuve boots the tailor made DP ball. Alvarez gives up on a fly ball that hung up long enough to make to make a dent in "War and Peace". 'stros down 3-1.
