yeah - was never that impressed with Bertuzzi's wheels. Despite that he had a knack for being in the right place at the right time on both offense and defense early in his career. Was seeing less of that by the time they moved him.

Vest with a nice finish of that inning for Maeda. Maeda only ends up giving up 2. But the way the 1st two hitters in the 6th teed off on him he probably would have given up more runs by the time Hinch got around to taking him out.

Well, Ward made the decision for Hinch. that was pretty strange to see. Looked like Kenta started going to 1st then couldn't catch his breath for a second.

Parker with another good game tonight - 2/3 BB. Got the last hit turning around a 101 mph pitch with a 108 EV. Torkelson --- 1/4, 3K and back to taking middle middle pitches for called strike ones the last two games. I just realized he's starting to give me a Brennan Boesch vibe.

I'm on board with SY's process. He wants a McDavid as much as anyone, but when he doesn't have the opportunity to get one, taking 2 way players that will it at least make it hard for the other teams' stars to play against you moves you in the right direction.

Most orgs have enough guys that start at 3B and don't have the arm or as MIF and simply outgrow their quickness that they don't have trouble finding guys to move to 1st in the natural course of things. someone mentioned Kennedy/Nixon. Supposedly people who listened on the radio though Nixon won the debate. On TV Nixon came across badly and they say it was the make-up. Could be, but I also tend to think it was just that when you watched Nixon you could always see in his eyes that he was a calculating liar.

Like Braille in the elevators in parking structures. Now I suppose a blind person might beat the sighted driver he was with to the elevator so he could push the button first -- but on the other hand it's also almost mocking the disability.
