  1. They get him for the minimum the rest of this year, but would have to go through arbitration next year for a price tag of about 4-5 mil (because you can't decrease salaries too far in arb). I'd bet he's non-tendered.
  2. Remember that time they took all pitchers in the draft?
  3. I am on board with trading Skubal, by the way. Flexor injuries tend to be Tommy John precursors. Of course the people you are trading him to know this as well, so not sure you can extract max value.
  4. Roster crunches take care of themselves. There isn't looking like one this offseason, and that is all we need to worry about.
  5. https://twitter.com/cmccosky/status/1692267247559958536?t=cfDXCPWT2niXqlL--GH8Zw&s=19
  6. I was under the impression that his whole library went down that path. I'm pretty sure Sweet Caroline was a character not of age. And Neil Diamond had another song or two of that ilk. I believe that girl who would soon be a woman is one by now.
  7. My Golf GPS watch has a step counter on it. Even riding a card, golfing nets a good 5000 steps, and more if there are cart path only restrictions. Granted, I'm more willing to walk for part of a hole to make things easier on my cart mate than he would be.
  8. If he is in the minors the rest of the year, he won't hit 5 years of service time and would still have an option year left. They could absolutely option him in the spring if they so choose. Once he hits 5 years, he can just refuse to go down and they would have to option somebody else.
  9. Optioning does not mean giving up on. It's a perfectly reasonable way to extend control into 2025, and the rotation doesn't really need him.
  10. Turnbull's 30 days are up next Thursday. He hits 5 years service on August 28, at which point he can refuse assignment.
  11. So do you option Turnbull?
  12. I... uh... saw this elsewhere and thought it was funny.
  13. Kinda the point I was trying to make. Wasn't trying to dig at anybody, but I do know that shouting from the rooftops about politics in this era really doesn't change minds and just makes people go away. This thread, in particular, has a lot of tweets from accounts I've muted or blocked because I don't think they advance the discourse (Rupar, Flipowski, etc.). I can just check Newspaper websites to get caught up on things and not be fired up or feel the need to pontificate on social media.
  14. 1. Frog is boiled 2. I have cut wayyy down on my politics consumption both here and social media. It is just emotionally healthy. I can follow news like this without spewing opinions all over the place.
  15. That was the game Clark was pulled from last week after overheating. It has been so hot out, it makes sense.
  16. The problem here is there are more than 4 guys who need to play shortstop in April and May, and more than 6 June-August... So if you want him playing only short, he's playing 2-3 days a week.
  17. I noticed Hao Yu Lee was pulled in the first inning of the night cap yesterday.
  18. That was a shrewd move masked by the Edwin trade falling apart.
  19. For what it's worth, the current position player crop in Toledo is the least roster-filly I can remember it being.
  20. Lipcius activation didn't make the transaction logs. Castro and Del Pozo were on the IL so weren't using a spot.
  21. Bubba Thompson DFA'ed by the Rangers. I see no reason not to snap him up if he makes it to the Tigers on waivers.
  22. He's not good and he's out of options. They found a superior left-handed option on waivers last week. Not sure what more you need. His ERA was pushing 5 and periph's didn't suggest much more.
  23. Bunch of minor league updates in the Tigers injury updates today. Angel De Jesus had TJ surgery. Roberto Campos shoulder strain. Brady Cerkownyk, meniscus surgery. Navigato: shoulder sprain/surgery. Hess is currently out with a shoulder: it was an oblique earlier this year that sidelined him on the way back from TJ.
  24. Well, for the first time in a decade next year, the Tigers won't be penciling a sub replacement DH on a bloated contract in the lineup every day. Even before Miggy fell off the map, VMart preceded him.
