I'm still not there.

Looks like I picked the wrong afternoon to focus on work.

I forget which podcast it was, but the coach did have an interesting backstory. Down and out, suicidal. I can see why religion would be important to him, and if he wants to pray, as long as it isn't compulsory for players to do so with him, that shouldn't be an issue. My rural public high school had a toooooon of religious stuff throughout. I was in choir, and there were so many God songs... Granted, my home county still hasn't cracked 40% covid vaccinations last time I checked, so I digress.

I'd have to look more into the case, but i do think the left tends to forget about the free exercise clause from time to time.

Ironic... I voted for them and convinced others to as well. I wish I would have voted for Clinton/Kaine if I knew how dangerous the Trump tidal wave was gonna be. Having said that, not auto-voting Republican was a big step for me at the time.

What blows my mind to an extent is the following: It's been pretty clear for a couple years this is coming. Exceptionally clear for a couple of months since the draft opinion. What is this decision doing? Kicking it to state governments. Yet how many republicans who will be writing abortion laws the next several years win their elections unopposed?

Gotta mobilize at the state and local level. I know that gerrymandering makes this an uphill battle, but how do the dem's expect to get any state majorities when they punt 40% of seats.

It isn't so much virtue in not being concerned, but getting stressed out accomplishes what exactly. I know who to vote for to try to keep women safe in elections and will do what I can. But my doomscrolling comment was more that I didn't want to see either the anger or the right wing celebrations. Back to my nephews after their nap time...

Good day to be on vacation and not doomscrolling

Ivey can shoot. His decision making and defense leave a lot to be desired. The best two Purdue guards in recent history are on the Pistons though.

I haven't watched, but when does he not?

How so? I'm curious. A 1-1 pick with a 4.3 ERA in 188 innings before missing two years with TJ Surgery is not a developmental success.
-
Is it?

I do think a lot of <5 year-olds have natural immunity at this point... It sure sounds like a lot of my friends who have kids in day care that caught a breakthrough case... the kid didn't get it at the same time. Or they tested the kid for antibodies and they had it. Having said that, I'd definitely get them a shot, unless a doctor gave me a damn good reason not to. Still, fuck DeSantis and his hand-picked antivax surgeon general.

It is high time to put turrets in the holy water. There's no other option. Put a handgun in the collection plate just in case.

Page views = money for the source. I don't support rags by clicking on them and giving them ad revenue. Also wasn't particularly interested in this, so it wasn't worth reading up on. It isn't important.

I did a search for this and it was all tabloid/Murdoch/daily caller/Washington examiner sources, fwiw.

I've muted her name on Twitter, so if there is a video, I won't see it. I hope there is one so it brings this scum down. For all the shit AOC gets for being a bartender...

Bite your tongue. 1985 was the best year in recorded history, despite the Tigers.

The 2015-2017 stretch was pretty disappointing. There were expectations coming in each year.

It's Hinch spinning. He had a Grade 2 sprain that required surgery. A sprain is a tear; it just wasn't a Grade 3 sprain (i.e. rupture).

I hate to copy from behind a paywall, but Will Carroll's newsletter is chock full of injury goodness, and I have been exchanging dm's with him every time Hinch tries to obfuscate the Mize injury. Unfortunately, the Tigers beat just regurgitates Hinch. This is from the newsletter.

The mere fact that this has not been reported by anybody on the Tigers beat is a major indictment. The Tigers blackballing of Fenech has them scared.

Mental health, addiction, burnout, legal troubles are things I've seen it used for in the past. Or a family situation that lasts longer than 7 days.

Worth pointing out there is a separate list (Bereavement and Family Emergency) for family health issues. If that lasts longer than 7 days, the player is put on the Restricted List. Since it hasn't been 7 days, this is not that.
