  1. Listening to.* I'm blacked out.
  2. Pache hasn't hit in AAA either, despite being in one of the minors' biggest band boxes last year. McKinstry and Nevin both have SSS issues with their major league numbers.
  3. Those guys are Barry Bonds compared to Pache.
  4. The beat writers' collective obsession with Harold Castro and Jeimer Candelario is puzzling.
  5. Pass on Pache. He can't hit.
  6. I get a kick out of the people who don't use the term "Hittin' Harold" ironically. He's not a good hitter. I forget who, but somebody tweeted he's going to have a crazy high batting average in Coors and thus high WAR. Never mind that WAR is park adjusted.
  7. Be careful of not recognizing the context of McKinstry's AAA track record. The PCL is loaded with hitting environments, even moreso the last two years as teams like Memphis/Iowa/Nashville have joined the IL. The projections do factor this in, and his isn't awful this year. I did just want to provide that context for looking at raw AAA numbers for teams in the west divisions.
  8. Hernandez had an opt out he exercised.
  9. Cesar Hernandez was released.
  10. Yeah, those commenters don't quite understand that 3-4 years down the road, it's the scrap heap pick-ups that are the good ones. Those same commenters 9 years ago this week. "Idiot Dombrowski signing this scrub JD Martinez."
  11. Damn. I thought we were going to solve gun violence, but now that there's another shooting, we have to wait so as not to politicize it and piss off the snowflakes.
  12. 10/15 is new. I think it was supposed to kick in in 2020, but it wasn't used in 2020-21 for Covid reasons. I believe it kicked in last year. It used to be 10 for both, but so many teams were using the IL when a player missed a start, so this makes them have to sit a pitcher for 2 starts.
  13. Have to pass a player through waivers after optioning them five times in a season. A position player has to stay down for 10 days, pitcher for 15, unless coming back up to replace an injury.
  14. You rarely see a starting lineup in AAA. Not just roster flux, but players there tend to move around every game just to get reps at different positions and increase flexibility. Probably too soon to say, though, since I think everybody and their mother expects some waiver action this week.
  15. Stan's back!
  16. Wait til you attend your first game, stay til the end, get home and get to bed on time.
  17. He used to be on here (or MTS) and was just an ass, and really I blocked him because he went sports talk radio in arguments and moved goal posts so often it just made me dumber.
  18. With Sportz showing up in here, this is officially the "Tweets from people I've blocked" thread.
  19. LOL at a sportz tweet showing up in the lunatic thread.
  20. Depends on perspective
  21. The Mets signed David Robertson and acquired Brooks Raley over the offseason. They've amassed some depth.
  22. Two Baptist ministers down here got sentenced to very long prison terms for their relations with minors. Ban churches.
  23. Somebody told me there is an ETF that basically simulates shorting all of Cramer's recommendations.
  24. What is so ridiculous about advocating for masks on airplanes? Fwiw, I think it is far more important in terminals and concourses during peak airborne pandemic times due to the intermingling of people and the engineered ventilation on aircrafts developed after SARS.
  25. There is actually a rule that players added to the 40 man over the offseason can't be optioned until 20 days before the season.
