I guess this goes here. This is the first full offseason of the 175 man domestic reserve limit. The reserve lists didn't exist prior to 2021 and has been 190 the last few years. The Tigers are about to run out of space and will need to start cutting players to make room. They are at 170 right now (not including Horn in DFA limbo). Other teams have this crunch too. I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of minor league free agents don't sign until after minor league season starts and teams can start stashing injured minor leaguers on the 60-Day and full season IL.

If you rely solely on teams for info on their own prospects, you have an incomplete picture. I'll have to dig up one of Micro's takes on this topic. I know in his prospect writing days, he had a variety of sources across the league to crosscheck information and has provided good reasons for that. But yes, teams are incentivized not to give the complete picture.

As an engineer, what good does poetry do me? Anyways, I did have 5 or so required humanities electives in my undergrad, so this exists. I just checked the current program map, and it is still there. This is a current Purdue Mechanical Engineering undergrad map: That is to say if there is too much emphasis on other things, at some point there is an opportunity cost that needs to be weighed. I personally think poetry is a waste of time for me professionally, but things like technical writing, communications, leadership skills, foreign languages, maybe some history are beneficial. I am trying to get heavy into reading books the upcoming year. Primary reason is to increase focus. I have full on brain rot and my focus needs to be restored.

It's literally not allowed. You can't outright somebody during the offseason (except that short period right after the season before the 40 man roster is set) if they were added to the 40 man roster after August 15. So if you straight up add too many players, you won't be able to outright them and may have to trim somebody you don't want to when you add a free agent.

You still need guys you can outright for later additions. Englert is probably next on the chopping block. If you would have added Workman or Hicks at Englert's expense, you wouldn't have that option with them.

Hicks was also acquired before Liranzo came aboard and before he became a known dude. Same with Briceno's AFL breakout, even if he is unlikely to stick at C.
