  1. There is venting, and there is arguing with bad faith trolls. All that does is raise your stress levels, waste your time, and sometimes bring you to their level. Best to ignore it. The last few weeks of trying that has been pretty liberating.
  2. Corbin Burnes to the Orioles Kyle Tucker to the Cubs Are two recent examples off the top of my head.
  3. All good. I'm trying to stay out of here anyways. Just really more giving more advice than anything else that feeding trolls only empowers them and drains you. Ignoring them drains them.
  4. Hey, if you quote people, those of us who ignore their drivel see their posts in here. Just saying...
  5. Right, or somebody gets hurt, or Keith is completely lost at the beginning of the year, or any number of things.
  6. One worry, but not enough to not want to offer. Like I said, it would work itself out. And that 20 year old AA player is the best Tigers hitting prospect of my lifetime. Look around at teams who busted out in recent years and see how many of them are because a prospect or two broke onto the scene.
  7. I only worry about blocking McGonigle, but that seems like something that would work itself out. The pick they would get would be a pretty good one, assuming the Tigers are still getting Rev Share money and get a Compensation 1 Round pick, which would nominally be 32nd to 34th depending on if the Dbacks offer Zac Gallen or Drake Baldwin wins the Rookie of the Year. The Phillies, Yankees, Blue Jays, and Dodgers are all in the CBT Penalty box and their pick moves back 10 spots, so they will all move behind the theoretical compensation pick the Tigers get. If the Mets don't win a lottery pick, then they are in the bonus too and their (likely 17th, very slight possibility 18th) pick moves back 10 spots too.
  8. Minor roster minutia, but Akil Baddoo, Tomas Nido, and Randy Dobnak are eligible for free agency right away. Dobnak is unlikely to take it because he would waive his buyout by not waiting until his option is declined after the season.
  9. Well that explains that: https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2025/10/11/if-tigers-gleyber-torres-looked-off-in-the-second-half-heres-the-reason-why/86619052007/ Makes the QO decision a bit more complicated. I would still offer.
  10. I'm offended as a former umpire.
  11. Nice little Ernie homage there...
  12. https://www.milb.com/news/gcs-182383104 So does Stone Garrett.
  13. I'm about to fly to Seattle just so I can yell at this ****ing umpire for these high strike calls.
  14. I would offer the QO to Torres and Flaherty. The pick the Tigers get (if they are still getting revenue sharing money) if they decline would be pretty high with four of the final six picks in the draft being known the CBT penalty box and their picks being moved back 8 spots. That would like be a 26th and 27th pick or something in that range.
  15. He's a free agent unless he is added to the 40 man in the next month or so.
  16. I don't have much memory of the 1993 World Series, but do remember an SNL skit where Farley as Kruk and others were farting, burping, and spitting during Oh Canada, so I imagine something happened vis a vis disrespect toward their anthem.
  17. The Tigers took on a ton of salary at the deadline. They were cheap from a prospect standpoint, but still added about $13M, which is pretty significant when you consider that is 1/3 of the season. You can rag on that deadline for a lot of things, but cheap from a payroll standpoint isn't one.
  18. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DNfHl7AVPem/?igsh=dTdpMXY5NHk0Ymhn Can't see anything from that guy without hearing this...
  19. Who's making the calls in the dugout/clubhouse on when to challenge? We might need to upgrade there.
  20. Here in Jax, the Jaguars stadium renamed when its naming rights holder got purchased.
  21. I am not sure the folded part is true. Even before the days of rotation chaos, that rarely held true but for some reason exists as a talking point.
  22. They haven't won a home playoff game since 2001.
  23. Y'all remember Speier from the Porcello/Cespedes trade? Then the Maybin/Krol trade...
  24. Especially when Luke Jackson is in the opposing pen...
  25. I think you can get Rodriguez for interference on that one... Need to read up on the letter of the rule.
