    My dive into other hot starts to the season took me to 1993. One of my first years old enough to follow the team: what happened where they lost 10 in a row? I didn't see any injuries or anything.

    There are some weird rules around titles. I don’t believe he can be poached without a title upgrade unless his contract is up.

    I wish this was more illustrative for his waiver priority, but the Tigers are last in priority for Cusick because they've already claimed him... But they'd be last anyways because they have the best record.

    I don't think Trump is dumb. He plays dumb because his base is dumb, but no way can he manipulate as many people as he has without any intelligence.

    Not gonna post the whole list of CBT numbers, but Ryan Cusick's comes out to a whopping $1,667. I am glad I started tracking this year in detail because I could see the Tigers approaching the tax next year. Some of these pre-arb guys are going to be earning some raises.

    Roster move probably waiting until they are for sure playing? If there's rain, they can wait til tomorrow and maybe there is an injury instead of a tough call.

    Never know... the Tigers player dev reputation was in the toilet then. He could have told them no at any price, and if so, why take that risk?

    I have to go back through my texts but I have a lot of friends in the Cincinnati area and vaguely remember one saying they knew somebody who was abused by him while with the Reds. I could be misremembering though.

    Keith is one guy. He's also somebody who bulked up a lot and lost a lot of the agility required to make good throws on the infield. There's no guarantees Rainer would follow a similar path.

    I remember when the Tigers had too many starting pitchers last spring and it took until June for bullpen days to be regular.

    But if you cash in your draft picks for major league production, does that mean you don't draft well? I will use Maybin and Miller as an example.

    No... The only exception being the same player being claimed in a waiver period: a team that already claimed him moves to the back of the line. The risk is roster spot. You have to keep the guy around for a couple days (full week in the offseason), so you can't just bypass the roster crunch.
