  1. Let's go back to the way back machine, all the way back to 2021 when a lot of this alleged activity took place. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/10/05/us/politics/cia-informants-killed-captured.html
  2. Well, I'm glad Twitter is fact checking stuff like this...
  3. Never said they were the same thing. It is still fund raising off of this, which is icky. Even if the fundraising supposedly goes to causes you support. I don't like fundraising off the legal system here.
  4. because you agree with the policies, it's okay. Got it.
  5. Ugh, for @romad1, @microline133, and I and others who aren't allowed near TikTok can we not embed their videos in here? Is there a way to block them?
  6. Oh, I know. I feel for you and everybody there. But it happens all over all the time and doesn't get this kind of attention. That's my only point.
  7. It's not a whataboutism. It's context. World leaders that are murderers: Ping Putin MBS Ortega Swe Kim Jung Un Assad Maduro Kiir Kagame I can keep going... MBS is a terrible person, and a murderer, but he made the mistake of murdering a journalist employed by an American media entity, so a light gets shone.
  8. I'm not defending him, but we know he's a murderer. I would venture to say a good percentage of world leaders are murderers.
  9. Spoken like somebody in the New York bubble! 😄
  10. Different down here. Neighbor's weeds are contagious, and I have had to fight to keep diseases from my next-door neighbor's lawns from invading mine. These southern grasses just die and create so many issues when weeds and insects take over.
  11. Pet peeve #2. The PGA is Professional Golfers Association, generally short for PGA of America. These are club pros, shirt folders, the person you get lessons from. The PGA Tour is the group of touring professionals. Media should know better and not conflate them. PGA is not a proper short hand for PGA Tour.
  12. Pet peeve! When something happens to New York City it gets outweighted media attention. In my almost 15 years in Florida, I've probably had about 30-50 days like this from being downwind of Georgia wildfires. Granted, I'm not always glued to national news, but today seems to be getting a lot more attention.
  13. My understanding is the deal is such that this won't really happen. It is a bit more complex than Olbermann (shock!) Tweeted. Still, Saudi money will be significantly funding Men's Pro Golf now. Hopefully it's not as disgusting as the LIV Propaganda, but they are off to a rough start. Monahan's about face to 9/11 families is as vile as it gets. Also, when it comes to human rights, the State of Florida, where the PGA Tour (Note, for the love of God, the PGA is a different organization) is located, is not executing gay people or poisoning women, but if not for the courts slapping DeSantis around, it is on that slippery slope.
  14. Anyways, what is that old parable about first they came for them and I did nothing. Then they came for me... I think it is naive to think the PIF will stop at soccer, formula1, and golf.
  15. Welp, I'm a bit sick as the resident golf fan...
  16. More than anything, goes to show what we all expected, just how terrible and antithetical to our constitution those laws are.
  17. Take any injury news from McCosky with a grain of salt. But a stress reaction is just a minor stress fracture. But a stress fracture of the fibula is minor, just don't want to rush him back.
  18. No pun intended, but Brant Hurter seems to make sense on Tuesday. We will see though. Toledo's rotation is a wreck.
  19. From the rumors about Olympic Village, it wouldn't take much effort to just make it an Olympic Sport going forward...
  20. The more they look for, the longer it takes. The longer it takes, the less likely he is to face justice.
  21. The Baseball Prospectus Injury Ledger seemed to show about 4-6 weeks for a fibula stress fracture, but there's a large variance. https://www.sportsmedtoday.com/fibular-stress-fractures-va-214.htm Good info in the link above. The key is rest, otherwise you run the risk of recurrance, so while the injury is likely minor, shutting it down for a week or two and being conservative on the rehab is likely prudent. Kinda similar in that regard in a lot of ways to E-Rod's injury.
  22. McCosky still thinks Tommy John Surgery involves a strained nerve.
  23. I bundled my Athletic in with NYT. I'm okay paying that, but obviously it would go away if my income dried up. The bundle isn't a terrible deal, though. I don't use tooo many of their recipes on the cooking app (SeriousEats is my goto). Wirecutter is a pretty reliable reference for choosing what to buy as Amazon's algorithm has gone to crap... And I'll be damned if having a subscription to NYT hasn't helped me piece together some archived MLB Transaction logs I can't find anywhere else. Vannini got his start at Tigstown, actually.
  24. Fibula... Biiiiiiiig difference. The Tibia is weight-bearing. I bet Greene is back by the end of June.
