  1. The judge does that, right? That will come Tuesday.
  2. Wasn't it heavily rumored or implied or even reported that one of Cohen's clients he hooked Stormy up with was Hannity? His wife left him around the time that came out. I hope he somehow goes down in this.
  3. I think UofM is your connection. A lot of their analytics hires are from UM and the team does have some kind of a partnership there. Fetter didn't exactly burn bridges. If he lives locally and showed interest in the job and is pretty smart, why not? He has recent front office experience, is involved with SABR. I'm looking forward to him calling games, tbh.
  4. I think the team will be in the mid to high 70's in wins with some hot streaks that give us hope.
  5. The beauty of this is that this applies to either Castro. Hell it may even apply to Fidel for all I know...
  6. It sure seems like they are waiting on Brieske's evaluation before seeing if they need to drop anybody or 60-day him.
  7. Also, if you haven't heard of Chasen Shreve, that's on you. He's been in the bigs for a decade now.
  8. A year ago, if I would have told you a bullpen that included Jason Foley, Will Vest, Joe Jimenez (coming off the awful years he was coming off of), and Alex Lange would be the Tigers' best bullpen since 2006, would you have believed me? I can't emphasize enough how important it is to just assume all bullpens will be average and your w/l projections for any team will be better.
  9. Rony Garcia was already outrighted. My guess is whoever the Rays acquired for Witherspoon.
  10. I told a couple ppl this in DM's, but... for those of you who've been in this community for 16+ years now, this is jarring. On facebook, a colleague of mine showed up in the ppl you may know. I poked around and saw an old profile picture, him in Virginia Tech gear reloading a rifle. That was triggering to me... By my math, he would have started at VT about 3-4 years after the tragedy, but damn...
  11. Stop quoting the latest incarnation of Stan. You only bring his ignored posts to light. Again, back to vaccines. Do your part and vaccinate yourself against that and don't spread it to others.
  12. Pache hasn't hit in AAA either, despite being in one of the minors' biggest band boxes last year. McKinstry and Nevin both have SSS issues with their major league numbers.
  13. Those guys are Barry Bonds compared to Pache.
  14. The beat writers' collective obsession with Harold Castro and Jeimer Candelario is puzzling.
  15. I get a kick out of the people who don't use the term "Hittin' Harold" ironically. He's not a good hitter. I forget who, but somebody tweeted he's going to have a crazy high batting average in Coors and thus high WAR. Never mind that WAR is park adjusted.
  16. Be careful of not recognizing the context of McKinstry's AAA track record. The PCL is loaded with hitting environments, even moreso the last two years as teams like Memphis/Iowa/Nashville have joined the IL. The projections do factor this in, and his isn't awful this year. I did just want to provide that context for looking at raw AAA numbers for teams in the west divisions.
  17. Yeah, those commenters don't quite understand that 3-4 years down the road, it's the scrap heap pick-ups that are the good ones. Those same commenters 9 years ago this week. "Idiot Dombrowski signing this scrub JD Martinez."
