  1. He was atop my list too, tbh. I don't mind hanging on to him. It's not like a Miggy Situation where you are stuck with him and can't cut him if he struggles.
  2. Why the outrage over Cisnero after he agrees to his deal and not when he was offered arbitration? The deal isn't exorbitant at all, and roughly in line with what I would expect him to get in arb. Once he was tendered in November, it's not like they can just back out.
  3. The roster with half fictional OOTP-created names is likely the most accurate in this thread. (And shows the point that we likely haven't heard of any relievers in the 2029 bullpen)
  4. Derek Hill wishing that new padding was a few years ago...
  5. Where the members of the World Champion 2022 Astros were in Spring 2016. Martin Maldonado, Backup Catcher Brewers Yuli Gurriel, Cuba Jose Altuve, Astros 2B Alex Bregman, A Ball in Astros System Jeremy Pena, Freshman at University of Maine Michael Brantley, Indians Disabled List Chas McCormick, Junior at Millersville University Kyle Tucker, A Ball in Astros System Yordan Alvarez, Cuba Aledmys Diaz, rookie in Cardinals camp Mauricio Dubon, A Ball in Red Sox system Trey Mancini, AA in Orioles system Jose Siri, A ball in Reds system Christian Vazquez, AAA in Red Sox system Justin Verlander, Tigers rotation Framber Valdez, rookie ball in Astros system Jose Urquidy, A ball in Astros system Luis Garcia, Venezeula amateur Cristian Javier, Rookie Ball in Astros system Ryan Pressly, Twins bullpen Rafael Montero, Mets AA Rotation Phil Maton, Padres A Ball Hector Neris, Phillies bullpen Ryne Stanek, Rays AA Bryan Abreu, Astros rookie ball Lance McCullers, Astros Disabled List Seth Martinez, Junior at Arizona State Will Smith, Brewers Bullpen Hunter Brown, senior in high school
  6. Watch as lowering the fence somehow affects the batter's eye and exit velos in Comerica drop.
  7. Comerica Park center field wall coming in 10 feet, and walls lowering.
  8. I still just re-upped but this may be my last year. Pecota is still the best projection system, and outputs in percentiles, which is useful for how I have my fantasy spreadsheet set up. Their current injury guy is very good, as is their heavy analytics guy. They post a lot of their code for replication. The social commentary is nauseating and unreadable and their general baseball quality has taken a step back. Additionally, player searching is broken and finding stats is a complete pain. I think they got hit hard when their behind the scenes database guy died suddenly a few years ago.
  9. I think so too, but there is some gray area on service years and 4th option. Sometimes guys get a 4th year that per the letter of the law as I read it they shouldn't. Nevin is such a player. Fangraphs doesn't always catch it (I've had to contact them to correct a few players, a la Paredes)
  10. I brought him up as an example of how I anticipate Harris et. al. to use roster flux to their advantage, when Avila wouldn't
  11. Because he throws gas and there is nothing to lose on minor league free agent signings?
  12. My dad is a go-to on identifying hair replacement situations in famous people. He'll text me out of the blue to say somebody has a wig or plugs. His text in response to the Alabama Congressman that went after Gaetz is that they were very careful to hold him back by the chin, not the scalp.
  13. Only because I attended a bowl game in the last week where my school was coached by Brian Brohm, there was a period in the mid-aughts where I got him confused with Brian Bluhm. Yoda's still on Twitter.
  14. Right, I just think there's going to be a lot of roster flux this year, less constrained by the 40-man roster, and a lot of platoons (which there have been since at least Hinch), and those platoons will change with the roster flux. Trayce Thompson, for example, would have been called up last year instead of languishing in Toledo then sold for a bucket of balls.
  15. The "List Positions, Four Bench Spots, Five Starting Pitchers, and Bullpen Roles" trope is antiquated. I came in here to point out Harris's quotes yesterday that pretty much said that outright and saw about five such posts. Since Hinch took managing over, how often have the Tigers had the same lineup in back-to-back games. A lot of flux, a lot of match-ups, a lot of mixing and matching. That's only going to increase.
  16. Interesting they list Vierling as IF/OF. He started 5 games at 3B last year.
  17. I'd have to think so. I can't speak to his arm strength, but I'm betting his lack of time coming through the ranks at 3B is a direct result of playing next to Bohm.
  18. Trading a reliever while he has value before he gets expensive for three bats is a win. Clemens is immaterial; he sucks. Between Harris specifically citing a LH infielder and RH outfielder earlier, and Clemens surviving many roster purges he had no business surviving, I have a feeling this trade has been close to done for a while.
  19. I kinda wanna run for President just to see how much money is in it and why so many people are doing it these days.
  20. This waiver churn is exactly how I roll on OOTP.
