  1. Man, Eflin was a guy I thought was worth targeting. Very underrated.
  2. Obviously, Harris was one of a committee in San Francisco, but after signing the following on the rebound: Kevin Gausman Tyler Alexander Drew Smyly (check out his 2020) Trevor Cahill (check out his 2020) Anthony DeSclafani Alex Wood Alex Cobb Jakob Junis He's earned the benefit of the doubt.
  3. That tweet doesn't make sense. There's a year between those pics, but it implies three days.
  4. Reminds me of the time the left-handed throwing guy on the softball team I was captaining who didn't know much about baseball whined about me not playing him at shortstop...
  5. My most played Spotify song of the year, haha
  6. And the joke I made on Twitter the other day... Cabrera's option vests with a Top 10 MVP finish this year. If the two Detroit chapter voters that voted for him for Tigers POY this year get MVP ballots next year, don't rule that out!
  7. Retired players hit free agency as a procedural technicality, and buyouts are baked into the contract guarantee.
  8. I believe he is still owed that. Hell, he could pull a Pujols and make the option vest!
  9. It was mostly people dunking on her. The quote tweet dunk amplifies these people. The Rupars and Flipowskis of the world are toxic.
  10. I was piled on Twitter by a lot of the fanboy/fangirl for saying this last year, but an injury is the best case scenario for Cabrera. I reject the notion that he isn't blocking anybody. There's an outfield glut building, and if things go well you need a spot in the lineup for Greene, Tork, Carpenter, Baddoo, and Meadows. If the player dev machine picks up and there is somebody OPS-ing 1000 in Toledo, it hurts to not be able to give that person a chance because you have a sub replacement every day DH standing in the way. Oh yeah, the above happened with Carpenter this season, and he didn't get the chance until Cabrera was IL'ed.
  11. Yeah I wasn't really going after you. I have the Flipowskis and Rupars of the world blocked.
  12. Don McEachern, D-VA, died. If current races hold, that moves the chamber from 222-213 to 222-212. If things were closer, like they were looking for a bit, each of those vacancies, special elections, timing of the special elections, would loom large.
  13. How hilarious would this be if this was Scott Plies's burner.
  14. Well, I can tell you the reporter on the byline is far from a right wing MAGA person with pronouns on her Twitter and many tweets advocating for the trans community, satirizing the republican mayor. That station also has produced an anchor who ran for congress as a Democrat and still employs her husband, and is aligned with the local newspaper that has frequent scathing editorials against DeSantis and Trump.
  15. Man, it sure seems like every tweet that shows up in this thread is from somebody I blocked or muted. MTG, for as batshit as she is, only benefits when she gets amplified by people mocking her. Block/ignore and let her flail away. Promote the boring hard working politicians who are actually trying to solve problems and that behavior will be incentivized.
  16. I'm not a Python fan. The people who quote it in falsetto British accents annoy me.
  17. Jacksonville crazies dump: https://www.cbsnews.com/miami/news/antisemitic-messages-appear-on-side-of-jacksonville-stadium-highway-overpass/ https://www.firstcoastnews.com/article/news/local/group-flies-confederate-flag-banner-over-tiaa-bank-field/77-11a84601-ae35-4213-86a1-83c303d87edb https://www.firstcoastnews.com/article/news/local/jacksonville-plagued-by-anti-semitic-displays-game/77-243e1eec-9dc5-4fdd-a83e-792f9e20653d
  18. I may have to start a thread on some of the goingson in Jacksonville of late.
  19. It means you can make it 40% of a players valuation instead of 10%. It is impractical to just not acquire anybody with strike zone issues.
  20. Not really anywhere. I just don't think people are understanding the front office processes. Harris isn't some czar that took over. Most of the same people are empowered, using the same information.
  21. "We need to add right-handed OF" is a lot more political than saying "Victor Reyes is sub-replacement level and we don't want to use a 40-man spot on him." Over-parsing the few media availabilities and judging based on three weeks of the offseason, the three weeks that are most often used for pruning, is ridiculous.
  22. What information is he using to make that final call?
