  1. Toledo DRC+ (100 average) from BP. DRC isn't perfect but uses batted ball data, opponent strength, weather, etc. to suss out some things. Andy Ibanez 122 Tyler Nevin 117 Justyn-Henry Malloy 117 Wenceel Perez 110 Colt Keith 108 Mike Papierski 106 Zack Short 102 Ryan Kreidler 101 Parker Meadows 99 Eddys Leonard 99 Andre Lipcius 98 Nick Maton 95 Donny Sands 90 Justice Bigbie 88 Dillon Dingler 72 While I'm at it, Detroit. Andy Ibanez 112 Spencer Torkelson 109 Akil Baddoo 102 Matt Vierling 100 Kerry Carpenter 100 Riley Greene 98 Jake Rogers 98 Miguel Cabrera 96 Zach McKinstry 91 Parker Meadows 90 Tyler Nevin 89 Nick Maton 88 Andre Lipcius 88 Javier Baez 84 Carson Kelly 84 Jonathan Schoop 80 Jake Marisnick 79 Zack Short 79 Ryan Kreidler 76 Eric Haase 66
  2. The problem with that is I don't think it adjusts by time of year, just year in general. So if the run environment took off toward the end of the year (as pitching became more depleted), you may not get a fair comparison for people who were in AAA for part of the year. BP's numbers may be able to factor in opponent strength a bit better than the rest.
  3. Rules experimentation (robozone, challenge system), pre-tacked baseballs, MLB pitching injuries depleting AAA depth...
  4. 1. Wenceel Perez is already on the 40-man. 2. For all the people clamoring for players in Toledo based on their AAA Numbers this year, Nevin was .326/.400/543 there this year.
  5. Well... Assuming Eduardo opts out, Baez stays, the free agents move the 40-man down to 37. Activating Alexander, Greene, Meadows, Mize, Pacheco gets you to 42. You have to cut 2. If you want to protect Keider Montero, you need to drop 3. If you ask me, I'd say Andrew Vasquez, Trey Wingenter, Tyler Nevin, and Brenan Hanifee... But I could be wrong. You can't outright Kelly or Meadows, so you have to wait to non-tender them. Pacheco also makes sense as a non-tender, and not an outright, due to how minor league contracts work after an outright. Anybody injured or added to the 40 man after August 15 needs to be outrighted by roster protection deadline or non-tendered if you are going to remove them before spring training. Also, anybody who is eligible for minor league free agency needs to be outrighted before that deadline too, or else you are paying them major league money in the minor leagues next year.
  6. Feeds right into adversarial hands.
  7. They will HAVE to do something by Monday, since they are going to be over 40 on the 40-man once all the 60-Day IL'ers come off.
  8. This was in the NYT Morning newsletter the other day. FWIW.
  9. The mention of TikTok got me thinking how that platform in particular can be an intentional source of disinformation.
  10. Videos with the same person playing multiple characters talking to themselves. They aren't funny.
  11. Is Sportz on that episode or no?
  12. I bailed on political twitter way before Elon. It was the lefty hysteria I needed to back awayfrom.
  13. Their invite system is likely designed to keep bots out.
  14. Twitter is still useful for niche stuff. I've culled almost all news and try to go to legit sources now. Particularly, anything I see on Israel/Gaza from a non-legit source I ignore it and try to make sure that doesn't show up in my timeline anymore.
  15. Don't use Tankathon, y'all. https://www.mlb.com/news/2024-mlb-draft-lottery-odds?t=mlb-draft-coverage I had these odds calculated.
  16. Who among us hasn't made that mistake with that area?
  17. Anybody else go out for Halloween and see people with (maybe) toy guns in their get up and fear that they are actually packing?
  18. Did anybody catch the Ernie Harwell homage?
  19. Not a huge fan of this website, but yeah... Why are the Padres doing this? Furthermore, I ask the same question of the Tigers.
  20. All this talk is a non-starter.
  21. You would have to give up more prospect capital if you include Baez than if you didn't. He has negative trade value.
  22. Also, I really don't want anything to do with Tatis. Fine player, we think, but that long term deal comes with significant risk, when you have a player who was popped for PED's, injured himself with reckless off field behavior, has had other incidents... It seems like somebody who could flame out pretty quickly and leave the team under contract holding the bag.
  23. Wait... if the Padres are trying to shed some salary, why are they taking on Javy Baez? They, of all teams, aren't in position to take on dead money.
  24. After the team was ordered to pay $200k in the lawsuit, this was the official response. Seems a tad overboard...
