  1. I would add the fact that Trump used to agree but, due to millions of dollars from Jeff Yass, had a "change of heart" objectively seems.... kinda fishy.
  2. I never said this? Not sure what you're getting at. It's a commentary on guys like Bondy, a guy who bills himself as a "independent journalist" yet is apparently not interested or capable of doing even a small bit of research that would inform those who read his content that the claim he amplified, at best, lacked context. If not being outright untrue. It's literally the opposite of journalism.... to your credit you were skeptical, but there are others that will share it uncritically and just take it as truth without doing a bit of research. Just my two cents, but that's a breach of trust.... the question to ask is if he's willing to lie and misinform here, what else is he willing to lie and misinform about?
  3. It is curious how people will say they "do their own research", yet "doing their own research" ends up meaning reading / sharing / amplifying sources of information that frequently omit details about the subject they are talking about. It's not the first time I've seen it from Bondy. Also worth noting that the source of information that G2 provided is an LLP that, among other things, practices in labor law, not a political blogger. They have incentive to correctly interpret the law because their bottom line depends on being able to interpret the law. Dave Bondy's bottom line, OTOH, depends on generating clicks and giving his consumers their dopamine hit of rage. Sorry if that comes across harsh, but it's just brutal honesty that people don't really "do their own research" as much as they think they do.
  4. It's also just hard in this country to win three straight elections as an incumbent party..... Reagan/Bush was the exception to the rule, not the standard.
  5. You gotta take anything Dave Bondy says or amplifies with about a truckloads worth of Morton Salt.
  6. I'll probably invite fire from both sides on this, but the absolute worst people to talk to about "the other side" are people on the other end of the spectrum from that other side. (and yes, that goes both ways) In terms of 2020, Biden did an effective job of consolidating a large number of groups to vote, including those on the left. But a lot of that was out of sheer pragmatism and the fact that Trump himself was an unpopular figure at the time of the 2020 election who was seen to have botched the ongoing pandemic at that time. Biden did a lot of stuff during his term to try to placate the left, but acting like he was a creature of that wing of the D Party or that he was beloved by that wing, that's just not reality.
  7. It's honestly amazing how the word "inflation" just disappeared from Trump and his team's lexicon after November 5. Which is a tell.
  8. I mean, if everyone aside from those who spend 80% of their free time following the likes of Catturd and End Wokeness on social doesn't recognize the troll, that seems like like pretty ineffective trolling Also, what's up with his right eye?
  9. The flip side of this, though, goes back to the discussion about Trump's historically low approval rating for an incoming President (mirroring his first term), despite the relatively favorable media coverage and obseqious toadying by the Elon's and Bezos's and Zuck's of the world: Trump's secret sauce for winning the election wasn't any special love for Trump or the American people thinking he's a genius or loving everything about his platform: it's that the American people wanted to punish the current administration. I'll let history sort our Biden's place in the rankings, but his approval rating leaving office kinda makes Trump's win (~200k votes across 3 states) seem even less impressive in retrospect.
  10. What's the deal with his eye?
  11. Who knew diplomacy could be so hard?
  12. One of Donald "Man of the People" Trump's supporters on... *checks notes* Barry Weiss' podcast talking about... *checks notes* how terrible it is that people don't just drop at their feet upon his passing. Another soulless husk of a human being.... sensing a pattern here.
  13. Hopefully they *want* to sustain it.
  14. Back in October, around the time of the VP debate, I was at a company golf function and the subject of politics came up.... generally do more listening than talking when politics come up at work, but I engaged a bit more this time. My golf cart partner didn't like Trump but also was pretty skeptical that he would pursue a lot of what he claimed he would do, or that he would ultimately be successful (ie. would face opposition within his own party on certain issues). Ukraine was an issue specifically identified in this exchange. I have no idea who he ultimately pulled the lever for, but regardless of which way he pulled the lever, a big part of both of Trump's wins has been the idea that he wouldn't attempt to do a lot of what he said he was going to do. And with Ukraine, he has transparently been in favor of leaving them out to dry. He has never really hid the ball, dating back to when he was President in 2020; this is part of who he is. None of this should be surprising. He advertised it, and this action by Mike Johnson is him acting out on that promise by removing an obstacle (ie. a Pro-Ukrainian GOP Chairman)
  15. Pretty obvious what's happening here
  16. First time I've looked at 538 (or any polling) since the election... Just on how corporate America and the media has been acting in the runup to his inauguration, you would expect his number to be at least 10 points higher My hot take (which really isn't that hot honestly, but is treated like one these days) is that he was elected in spite of his flaws (not because of them), and that it is all primarily about the economy and inflation. Yet his fans, the media and Trump's team, for differing reasons, are all incentivized to look toward culture wars to explain it all away.
  17. We'll also see how long the peace actually lasts...
  18. Seems pretty weak for an incoming POTUS
  19. For what its worth, "Markwayne"'s colleague in the Senate, Mark Kelly, more or less called his comments about behaviors in the Senate bull**** today I'm gonna go ahead and believe the astronaut over "Markwayne"
  20. Sean O'Brien of the Teamsters (who then turned around and kissed Trump's shoe)
  21. Yeah, Facebook may be dying, but his overall portfolio is still pretty strong; they are currently building data centers left and right.
  22. That's more or less what all of the techbros believe in, to be fair to Zuck. Just empty soulless husks of human beings; all the money in the world can't make them interesting or beloved by the masses
  23. Wow, Pfife edited a post. Sick Burn! Lmfao
  24. 1) Doug Emhoff was neither running for office or trying to be confirmed to lead one of the largest federal bureaucracies 2) If he was, Holic's guy Markwayne would undoubtedly find his morals again and be singing from a different song book. So spare me the 'hypocrisy' horse****
  25. By definition, alcohol is a drug. So I'm not the confused one here, Bub
