  1. Part of the struggle I see with Correa as well is that the Astros themselves may want to up their ante with him too. They will have to pay a ransom to get him, and honestly as much as I'd love to see him in a Tiger uniform, not at too steep a price. In terms of where he'd rather play, this is probably an overrated factor, but one selling point of coming to a Detroit would be that he would be THE guy here, not just another cog in murderers row with the Yankees. I dont know if that matters for a lot of players tho. Probably not.
  2. That one additional run now looms large...
  3. Personally I think it was not a swing, but to Ed's point, it's definitely a part of the game that is subjective and it's hard to see how to eliminate it. Without roboumps anyway
  4. I had to check out early, but it was an instant classic it would appear
  5. A lotta LOB going on tonight by the bay...
  6. Regarding Virginia, while I know the race is closer than Mac would like, the Hacks guys spent their episode talking about how Youngkin was gonna win. Maybe he will, but haven't really seen data that would suggest he's favored at least
  7. Yep. People gotta vote!
  8. TMac 53-41 RV, 51-46 LV Past two public polls (CBS/YouGov) of Virginia paint a similar picture... a McAuliffe lead in RVs that narrows when the likely voter screen is applied. It's sort of similar to California, although I have no reason not to believe that TMac needs to generate more enthusiasm on the D side.
  9. I'll go back to what I said earlier in the summer in our now defunct forum: mid 80s is definitely a reasonable goal for this team. Especially if they do make some investments in the roster. I am a little bit wary of some of the individual performances they got, particularly offensively (ie. Baddoo, Haase), so they'll need to perhaps offset some lost production with their improvements. But it is definitely achievable, especially in this division.
  10. Hot take: Carlos Correa is oversold as a possibility and Corey Seager is undersold.
  11. That kinda talk probably was a factor in the Georgia runoffs
  12. The playoffs have been pretty enlightening in terms of how far behind the local broadcast is PBP wise. Brian Anderson and Don Orsillo are just lightyears better than ol' Shep.... and even the non-Buck Fox folks aren't too bad either.
  13. Ya can't make it up folks
  14. This isn't really political, but this is really skeezy.... reporters asking subjects of reporting for edits on their stories should ruin a reporters credibility.
  15. It'd help if you provided examples of outlets, but the big thing to remember is that Democratic Party is a big tent party that includes a number of different ideologies, much more so than the Republican Party currently. The tendency of some conservatives to just blanket call every Democrat things like "socialist" or "communist" or "leftists" kinda obscures that.... When you are the leader of a party like that, that means that these competing groups are jockeying for approval of their particular beliefs or policies or whatnot.... especially in a time where they are debating a big piece of legislation like BBB, or dealing with the border crisis, etc. Any decision you make is more likely to alienate at least some part of the party because there are competing ideologies under one tent. My guess is that is where some of the criticism is coming from....
  16. Just an FYI, but MLB Pipeline Podcast has a really nice interview with Tork for this week's episode.
  17. No question... Jerry should give him a contract for life. Would be thrilled to see it
  18. The epitaph on the Brewers is pretty simple... couldn't score enough runs.
  19. I dont like the Astros because of what happened... but I am even less impressed with players like Tepera who use what happened to make excuses for his team's poor play. The Sox lost this series because, outside of a four or so inning stretch Sunday night, played pretty poorly. It's that simple. This wasn't 2017 Yankees-Astros we're talking about here. Couple Tepera's comments with LaRussa whining some more about teams pitching Abreu inside, they just are a bunch of crybabies. Good riddance.
  20. Wait, these guys are still ****ing that chicken? Man, the Sox are the biggest bunch of crybabies... they whine whenever anyone pitches inside, and it can't possibly be their own play that results in them losing.
  21. I didn't have "Adam Wainwright talking about art" on my bingo card lol
  22. Isn't Minnesota the state where they give people with DUI's white plates?
  23. Can the Stros hold the lead this time?
