  1. Flaherty has 8 strikeouts. The Cubs don't strikeout a lot.
  2. It was a strike. But umpires really are jerks. Nobody, not a single person, came to the game to see a stubborn umpire.
  3. Riley is going thru it. 7 of his last 9 at bats are strikeouts. Yeah, let's bat him cleanup. 😌😌
  4. It looks like most Sunday home games start at 1:40.
  5. Same. But I took it a step forward and found his career highlights.
  6. But that's not the point. It will be a fair trial because the whole world will be watching. And democrats want it done legally, with due process. If the guy is guilty of crimes, democrats would want him punished. They follow the law. MAGA tried to just grab him, disappear him and say "trust us, he's a criminal." Yeah, we don't trust them.
  7. OK...file charges and try him. All most normal people wanted was due process. Throw him in prison or deport him if he's found guilty. But stop just snatching people off the streets and "disappearing" them. Follow the constitution.
  8. IDK if it's on purpose or best player available. It is a good way to go if you have patience, if your major league team is winning, you don't need the talent at the ML level as fast. And I won't argue with the success Harris is having. He's quickly rebuilt this entire organization.
  9. Twins, KC and Cleveland all lose. The last 2 Tigers losses, those teams also lost.
  10. Bad habits are hard to break. He's swinging from the heels. He talked about hitting more fly balls and less grounders. Maybe he should just try...hitting the ball and forget about the launch angle for a while. Hitting one home run for every 20 strikeouts isn't really worth it.
  11. Our MVP caliber LF leads all of MLB in strikeouts. Not a "couple of weeks"... broken all season. Hit him 7th until he learns how to actually make contact, if he ever does.
  12. This 9th inning comeback walkoff is going to be epic. 😆
  13. Good points. And players today are bigger and stronger than former generations. Spending all off-season working out instead of having to get jobs makes them better too. This really is the case for all sports, not just baseball. Look at football offensive lineman or the 7 footers in basketball.
  14. A .270 hitter who plays good defense and has a bit of occasional pop in his bat. Still young enough to maybe improve but also still young enough to maybe never improve. When I called him over-rated, I got quite a bit of blowback. Do fans want Hinch to keep hitting him in the 3 hole or maybe move him down in the lineup until (or if) he learns to make a bit more contact? That uppercut, long swing from the heels makes for a LOT of swings and misses. Sigh...
  15. 40,000 disappointed fans.
  16. Yeah, it doesn't account for injuries but it does account for less talented players making the majors. About the same in most sports. I say today's better players are better than older generation players because of better physical knowledge and better nutrition. And it seems like players are getting bigger and better from one generation to the next.
  17. Montero in. Time for the Cubs to Release the Kraken!!
  18. A sellout but most of the seats behind home plate looks sad.
  19. Fanduel shows a pregame at 12:30.
  20. I really believe that the Trump administration wants protests and demonstrations so he can declare martial law and legally suspend the constitution. Total evil. Total cruelty.
  21. It must be hard for lesser SP to follow Skubal. It's like a gourmet chef serving hot dogs a day after prime rib. 😅😅
  22. I thought Montero was the scheduled SP today? Holton an opener followed by the long man, Montero?
  23. There are more players in the league now compared to the '60's? I really doubt that's the reason but it's probably true.
