  1. Yankee fans missing Torres already...🤣🤣🤣
  2. I agree. But the cost....
  3. He sure would look good in Honolulu Blue;
  4. The Lions-Vikings game has the potential to be the most meaningful game next week. Rams-Seattle may be for a playoff spot but I think only if the Rams lose this week. Hopefully, the Lions will have the division and the bye wrapped up Monday night. Go Packers!! (I need a shower)
  5. We have some kid pitchers in MILB who can give us innings for a fraction of that cost . Fans need to remember that this is a business and businesses are in business to....make money.
  6. Tork is one dimensional. He's only expected to hit for power. His base running and defense are below average. He had one job, knock in runs with a power bat. If he's not doing that, he's useless. You're not going to use him as a pinch runner or defensive replacement. Time to move on from him, I wish him luck.
  7. I've also heard from Yankee fans who are glad he's gone. Fielding errors are one thing but they complain about his mental mistakes (not covering 2nd base) and his base running mistakes. Those don't show up in the box score but could be losing games on occasion.
  8. But it doesn't really give Hinch much infield flexibility. Unless he moves Keith over to 1st or 3rd base? It really wasn't a position of need. I guess a bit surprising, more like he was available and more affordable than other positional free agents?
  9. Torres has signed to be our 2nd baseman. And if Keith's arm isn't strong enough for 3rd base, it will be between him and Tork for 1st base.
  10. "9:03am: It’s a one-year, $15MM deal, ESPN’s Jesse Rogers reports. Torres is expected to be Detroit’s primary second baseman." https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/12/tigers-sign-gleyber-torres.html
  11. The Tigers have needed a 3rd baseman ever since Harris took over and let Candelario walk. He got Vierling, a decent player but not All Star caliber. Another 2nd baseman in our system? Options around the infield? Maybe at 2nd base but we still need a RH bat for either 3rd base or RF. And SS is a question mark. We didn't sign Torres to fill a need, 2nd base was covered. We signed him because he was available. Let Hinch figure it out.
  12. Yeah, we only have 184 2nd basemen in our organization. Maybe find a LH OF bat next? SMH....sign Colt to a very long term contract and then sign another 2nd baseman. Move Keith to 1st base, I guess?
  13. Chicago scored a TD but it was called back for holding. SOB.
  14. The Giants say "hold my beer..."
  15. Any one of those 3 guys would be a huge improvement for the Bears. Vrabel makes the most sense, he's young enough and has had success. But isn't he more of a defensive coach? I think Johnson would probably be better for Caleb....IDK.
  16. Philly may not have an easy time against Dallas if Hurts can't play. He's in concussion protocol.
  17. The Bears saga...gotta feel sorry for their fans;
  18. If he wouldn't have shown signs of slipping, he would have already been signed by a big market team. As for signing Skubal or Greene when they become free agents or extending them beforehand? They'll be walking before the Tigers spend that kind of money. That's why it's important to draft and develop well so we have replacements ready. Spend money or bank it, that's the Tigers 2 choices. And so far, they're saving it.
  19. It's not our money. And it's also not like the Tigers would use that money to sign somebody else. Spend it on him or save it, that's our 2 options. As fans, we should want the Tigers to try to fill their needs with quality players. If it doesn't work out, at least they tried. And it's not like we got value from the last Miggy contract or the Javy contract.
  20. According to this article, the Tigers already tried to extend him. And it speculated that there's no way Boras would allow him to sign an extension. He may be looking at a $400 million contract. https://www.freep.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2024/12/25/tarik-skubal-contract-detroit-tigers-400-million-scott-boras/77061451007/
  21. No, he's a Complete Unknown. Like....a Rolling Stone! 😆
  22. I still say they should have made a big push to get Harbaugh. He was their QB for years and is a throwback to the Ditka years and Ditka is a Chicago legend. As a Lion fan, I'm glad they didn't but it really seems like a huge Bears swing and miss.
  23. Get a good coach and a help on the O line and they could be a problem. They've lost a few close games.
  24. It's also an age issue. They're lucky they found Purdy in the draft. A team with a QB, TE, and receivers but no running game? It should be a beat down. Time for a little payback. 😆
