I'm not a McKinstry fan. I know Hinch loves him but he should be gone. We have plenty of backup infielders and his weak LH bat is redundant. OF backup could be Perez and Carpenter. The player I like best in RF is Vierling. So yeah, 6 outfielders if you include Ibanez, who can also play 2nd base and 3rd base. That's a decent bench.
His defense is fine, he struggled when first called up but he's servicable. A strong bench is hard to build these days, the Tigers could do worse (Baddoo).
I was worried the Tigers would be tired after getting in late and the Angels having Monday off. But..these kids are young. And hungry. Winning is fun...
I looked up Rendon's contract. Holy cow, yes, that's the worst contract I've seen.
The Angels agreed to terms with Rendon on Wednesday on a seven-year deal worth $245 million with no deferred money, a full no-trade clause and no opt-out.
I didn't know Rendon's contract. Some of the money to veterans around the league makes me appreciate the youth movement more. I guess the Tigers have been building it the right way. Patience paying off? I sure hope so.
Building up their confidence. And players finally healthy and producing. But our pitching has been amazing. For all the hate Hinch gets, he's pressing all the right buttons lately.
But it's indoors, with the ball hitting the roof. And the pitcher doesn't bounce the ball, I thought they bounced it in cricket? They hit a foul ball and about 8 guys go running around in different directions.
