A very young and inexperienced team. Yes, they've struggled at times but they've also played some very good baseball for stretches. That last home stand against 2 first place teams wasn't a fluke, we won 5 out of 7. Perez and Vierling look good at times. They're starting to score more runs but getting somewhat thin at SP. And our BP is way too inconsistent. Last place? The WSox are almost 50 games under .500....lol

Javy is the worst hitter in the AL...maybe in all of MLB. His defense is really good but trying to carry his bat is kinda hard when the team is struggling offensively. We have several options at 3rd base and 2nd base but using McStinky as a backup SS doesn't give us much better offense and his defense is...stinky. I don't want Harris to trade any prospects for rental players but maybe this off-season, sign a FA SS. Whoever may be available, I dont know. I really do like this Tiger team and I would say they're close...we just need some more quality depth. Especially at SP.

Give me a shortstop or give me death... Seriously, I see the Tigers biggest needs as a quality SP or 2 and a quality SS. I've seen enough of Javy's wild swing and misses. He's our best defender but his bat isn't even AA quality.

The optics aren't what democrat people may like but in the grand scheme of things.....there are about 1200 total players on teams 40 man rosters. Even if all 1200 votes GOP, it wouldn't make much difference. It's a bigger deal if they influence who the fans vote for. I remember when Tom Brady went MAGA, I stopped caring about him.

It's ALL about money. Many of these guys pay more in taxes in a year than most people make per year. Greed over country...and don't forget, these jocks are mostly not the most highly educated people...

Yeah, he sounds like a cancer. And I did mention that Avila was the one who gave him that contract. But wasn't he going to be a FA whether we traded him or not? If so, he would have gotten more money pitching for LA (a playoff team) if he did well. I do remember talk of not buying out his no trade clause. My only point I've been trying to make is that Harris knew about his contract for months. When talking multimillion dollar deals, terms need to be in writing. If ERod agreed to be traded, get his signature and leave no doubt about it. To say the whole mess is ERods fault says Harris is faultless. And, like I've been trying to say, the buck stops at the top.

I heard that at the time but I never heard it mentioned by people in the know. Only on a sports message board. My only point is it should have been agreed to in advance, in writing, to protect both parties. And I would also like to think Harris learned an important lesson from it. I really dislike those multi-million dollar contracts with no trade clauses. As much as I would love to say it's all ERods fault, the big boss should take responsibility. Like we said, the player is/was an airhead who really couldn't be trusted to keep his word.

Dude, relax. OK, you're right. Harris is totally blameless. It's all ERod's fault. Harris got him to agree to the trade and ERod screwed him over. The buck no longer stops at the top. I would say the original blame goes to the guy who gave him a no trade clause to begin with but I worry that would set you off again. Feel better?

I saw an interview with him and Sean Casey. Casey said when he first got here, Leyland went over a sign with him. Told him the sign to steal a base...lol. Pure Leyland, making a joke to put a player at ease. I remember he told a rookie pitcher, who was making his first start, that if he had family coming to watch him to get there early because he may nor be in there for long...lol
