  1. So what, a 5 year rebuild? Or does the fans patience last that long?
  2. He blitzed on 1ST and 2nd down. Got them in a 3rd and 19. Called timeout before the 4th down play because Baltimore was outta time outs. 1st mistake. The next mistake was playing a passive defense and allowing them to convert a 4th down and 19. Two huge coaching mistakes. Sorry, you can't change history.
  3. Our coaches are fine, getting a lot out of a very bad team. At least, defensively. Have they made mistakes? Yup, sure did.
  4. They blitzed on 3rd and 3 earlier and got a sack. Your point?
  5. Rushing 3 on 4th and 19 cost them a game. 0-5.
  6. Yeah, I used to. For the last 50+ years. But sure, let's start over and show patience.
  7. The Lions best player is the punter.
  8. It's kinda cute that people thought this game was a win. No receivers and no defense usually equals a loss.
  9. Just play it the same as 1st and 2nd downs. Aggressive. There's a reason we had them in 3rd and long and 4th and long. Or you can change the defense up and play very passive. Which is what we did to lose the game.
  10. Obviously I meant listening. Too much of a hurry.
  11. Talking to NFL analysts, they would tell you it's very hard to cover receivers for an extended period. Give an NFL QB enough time and he will find an open receiver. And it's not like we have a group of All Pros on our backfield. So our coaches knew we are thin on talent in our secondary but don't put any pressure on the QB to check down or to scramble. This is a pure coaching mistake after mistake. I like Campbell but he screwed the pooch on that one. I hope he learned. Oh wait, he did the same thing 2 weeks later. OK.
  12. Ugh...one of the reasons Baltimore was in 3rd and long and 4th and long was we applied heavy pressure. On 4th and 19, no timeouts for Baltimore, we called time out, which gave them time to regroup. Then...we didn't apply any pressure, allowing him to survey the field to find an open receiver. I like Campbell but it was just horrible coaching. Good for our draft position though.
  13. I really hope they win this week but I voted for the Chicago game. Limited talent and injuries don't make me very optimistic. Sign Golden Tate....
  14. It just irritates me a bit that Campbell is getting passes for his coaching mistakes. Yes, he's learning on the job with very limited quality players but the bad calls end on him alone. Not the assistants. And he would admit it, he seems like a stand up guy. And his motivation ability can't be questioned, I think he's already gotten more from his limited quality players. I really do like the guy but I'll be the first to call him out on his questionable calls. Going for 2 to take the lead in Minny took some stones. Was it ever asked if Minny let Swift score to preserve time? It was like he was barely touched. Naaaaaa...
  15. If the QB didn't have as much time to throw, receivers don't get down the field in their routes. He woulda dumped the ball down, a tackle and we win. Plain and simple.
  16. OK, let's bet. Loser can't post on MTS for a full week. I take Cincinnati. You guys up for it? 😅😅
  17. So is it Goff who can't throw the ball 20 yards down the field or the fact we don't have any decent receivers getting open? Or a combo of both? Either way, I see us losing more than I see us winning. Underdogs at home to Cincinnati? Horrible. I guess we'll need to run the ball 50 times....
  18. Our coach called timeout before the 4th and 19 play. We had them on the ropes but they were given a chance to regroup. Huge coaching mistake that some people want to deflect on the players. Not fair to them at all, no DB can be expected to cover for that long. Blitz and we win, that simple.
  19. Took Green Bay to OT. But yeah, we can win. Any given Sunday, right?
  20. Well, like I said, I hope he learns from his mistakes. He didn't seem to learn from the Baltimore game not to rusn 3 when a long play is needed. He did the same thing 2 weeks later, with the same results. With such a weak secondary, it seems like common sense not to give the opposing QB so much time to get the ball so far down the field. And even then, it took 2 historically long field goals to beat us. And hopefully he'll learn to call plays with the players he has and not just by the book. Going for it on 4th down usually is the right call. Only problems are the players you have to work with and putting your weak defense in a tight spot if you're stopped. That possibility has to be taken into account. And not taking the points when you're in FG range is never the right call early in a still close game.
  21. Release players that leave receivers wide open. In 2 games. Easy wins we just gave away. If you're not going to cover, you may as well blitz.
  22. He's made some pretty bad calls. Going for it on 4th down with a lack of quality players. And his clock management hasn't been too impressive. Rushing 3 on critical plays with a horrible secondary. But yeah, we'll give him a pass until we get some players that are capable of playing in the NFL. But some of his calls are mistakes that hopefully he'll learn from.
  23. What is it you could possibly like? Our inexperienced coach crying? Wouldn't it be better if he was, like, really pissed off? I mean, really, really pissed?
  24. Guy is prolly gonna have a nervous breakdown like Dickie V. did coaching the Pistons. Just quicker.
