  1. Holliday is not getting dealt. Basallo or Mayo are also very unlikely to be moved. However, in my estimation we would listen. Heston Kjerstad is a beast and is just getting his first real taste of the bigs. His defense is questionable everywhere, but he has a solid arm and can play LF, RF, and 1B... and would also be great as a DH. He has prodigious power from the left side and has hit lefties fairly well in the minors, so he wouldn't be a platoon guy. With us having Anthony Santander becoming a FA at year's end, Kjerstad is the obvious replacement. However, I and others feel that while he's Major League ready, he is more expendable than the others. A package led by Kjerstad might not cut it, though he's a great prospect in his own right.
  2. You just HAD to step over the line! 😁
  3. I misspoke and do apologize for that. Mayo can play 1B (and even DH) as well, and his prolific power from the right-handed side is something we can use more of. Westburg is versatile, playing well at both 3B and 2B. Jackson Holliday is the heir apparent at 2B, but that may not come until next season. So, Westburg is not truly blocking Mayo. I believe Mayo, though dominating AAA offensively once again, has been kept back while improving his defense at 3B. Reports seem to indicate that he should be an average defender with a cannon arm, so his arrival is imminent.
  4. I don't see Beavers as a CF, but still, another prospect could take his place. I agree that a trade between the teams seems unlikely. But if it were to go down, it'll be fun to see who was moved. 🙂
  5. Westburg is far too important to the big league club to deal... especially if coupled with the guy who is still in AAA mainly because Westburg is blocking him.
  6. I can almost assure you that the possibility of getting two of the three great prospects is less than 1%. Holliday plus a lesser prospect, is also quite unlikely, but we have a lot of talent from which to negotiate. I mentioned a bit ago that I'd personally be agreeable to trading a package similar to 3B Mayo, LHP Povich, and OF Beavers for Skubal. If something along those lines isn't enough, there's a good chance these teams will go in another direction... and that's okay too. 🙂
  7. I'm a long-time poster at the Orioles #1 fan forum, the OriolesHangout, and we are having these sorts of conversations daily. Skubal is scary because of his injury history, so some would not be agreeable to Holliday, Basallo, or Mayo's inclusion in any deal for Skubal, while others feel Skubal is worth the risk and would be agreeable dealing one of the Big Three, plus a lesser prospect or two. Many of us feel Detroit has little hope to make the playoffs in the next couple of seasons, as currently constructed, but could really benefit with an influx of talent by trading Skubal and Jason Foley. The issue is that Tigers fans and more importantly their front office, may disagree and believe they're a couple of impact free agents away from contention. It's hard to say either way. FWIW I would be agreeable to trading a package similar to 3B Mayo, LHP Povich, and OF Beavers for Skubal.
  8. Hi all. As an Orioles fan I want to discuss a potential Skubal trade. I'd like to hear your thoughts on what you feel would be a reasonable trade between the O's-Tigers. As many of you know, we have a top farm system (if not the top), and it would seem most fan-based and writer-based proposals begin with one of Holliday, Basallo, Mayo, or Kjerstad. So, what are your thoughts?
