  1. Unless he comes out crushing in ST, I’d rather have Wenceel than Tork. I also have a feeling that Baez will start on the DL and have an extended rehab.
  2. Possibly the worst trade in sports history. How is that all you get for Luka?
  3. I want to give Jung a fair shot at 3B if his wrist is healthy now. Platoon him and Vierling there.
  4. If he doesn’t want to play here, then I don’t want him regardless of price. Let him sulk somewhere else
  5. And yet we didn’t sign Verlander either
  6. I don’t understand the fascination with keeping Mason Englert around. Faedo has some potential value as a spot starter/multiple inning reliever.
  7. He wouldn’t make it past Monroe alive
  8. I keep seeing Torkelson being rumored to go to the Mets.
  9. Kahnle would be a solid addition to the pen.
  10. Most players would be willing to come to Detroit….for the right price. Most of them aren’t worth that price though.
  11. They’ve lost Cobb, Boyd, Naylor, Gimenez, Mogan, Sandlin, Horwitz, Straw, and Karnichak and basically all they’ve brought in was Carlos Santana.
  12. Because said 2B sucks at playing 2B?
  13. Can he still hit high 90s with the fastball? Gotta have a strong defensive 3B with him on the mound though. None of that Ole Bull..
  14. Anyone else baffled by the Guardians offseason to this point?
  15. I feel like being a Mariners fan probably feels similar to having a 7 month long sinus infection.
  16. I’ll be curious to see how next years ballot plays out and also what you all think when looking at it. Personally I only see 4-5 guys that I think belong in. Not sure there’s another 5-6 that are worth throwing votes on to help keep on the ballot. I would vote for: Andruw, A-Rod, Manny, Utley and Felix Hernandez I could be possibly be convinced on voting for Abreu, Vizquel and K-Rod Out on Beltran and Pettitte
  17. At least with the PED scandal, that stuff was potentially available to any player. in my opinion, the Astros scandal is worse than that.
  18. Yeah I can understand that….but once you get to modern day, non-controversial superstars….what’s the logic? Like once Albert Pujols becomes eligible….what could possibly be the argument for him to not be unanimous? Yet I’m sure they’re will be one guy out there who will see an opportunity to insert himself into the storyline….
  19. All of those guys should’ve been unanimous though. What more could you possibly need from any of them?
  20. He at least has the right attitude about taking accountability for his performances and dedicating himself to work to improve. He was miserable to watch most of last year but I can’t dislike him as a person and root against him. Hoping he bounces back to respectability not for our sake but for his
  21. If I was a voter, Jeter and Ichiro are both no brainer first ballot HOFers. In my opinion, Ichiro (among several others) was a more complete high level player among all facets of the game—and reached significant milestones despite not coming to MLB until he was 27. If Ichiro starts in the MLB at 21, he’s the hit king. Jeter was a superior power hitter, but he benefitted heavily from many years of all-star hitters behind him and his defense was actually quite a negative.
  22. I think Whitaker/Evans etc would’ve been in already if there wasn’t division on PED users being allowed in. How many worthy players aren’t in because guys like Bonds/A-Rod/Clemens are on the ballot for the full length of time instead of being first ballot?
  23. Brant Hurter could continue to emerge as well
  24. Even if we signed Flaherty and each year of the deal he is only healthy half of the year but performs as we’ve seen him recently when he is healthy—that could be a big help to a team with a lot of young arms and a lot of untested arms. if Olson, Cobb and Mize had been healthy and/or consistent last year, I’d say going out and getting a potential high level arm maybe wouldn’t be necessary. But with those two having injuries and consistency issues, along with upcoming unknowns in Jobe and SGL….I’d rather risk bringing in another arm. if we are going to “waste” money, I’d rather it be on pitching. If the guy ends up sucking, at least he’s only hurting the team every 5 days instead of daily….
