If you were the general manager of San Diego would you trade Dylan Cease and Jackson Merrill for Kerry Carpenter and Jackson Jobe?

The Tigers need legit right-handed bats. A lineup with Guerrero and Bichette would greatly improve our weak offense.

I wouldn't hesitate to make the trade, of course the trade assumes Guerrero and Bichette are signed for the long-term. Some of you really overestimate the production the Tigers would receive from the players they'd be giving up. Assuming Meadows hits, Max Clark is never gonna play center in Detroit. And Max Clark is never gonna outhit Kerry Carpenter, assuming the Tigers think of moving Clark to right. McGonigle is never gonna outhit Colt Keith. Jung may eventually become a productive enough hitter, and he may not. We know Jung will never be good enough defensively anywhere in the field. Jaden Hamm was bad in college, was great in the first half of the season in A ball, not as great in the 2nd half. In Guerrero and Bichette, the Tigers might be acquiring two future hall of famers in their prime. What hall of famers is Toronto getting? None.

You gotta give to get. A fair trade has a little bit of pain on both sides.

Seems like if you guys were the Toronto general manager you would make the trade. I like the idea of adding two right-handed bats to the lineup. Meadows, Greene, Guerrero, Carpenter, Keith, Bichette, 3b Vierling, DH Perez/Malloy, Dingler/Rogers. Farm still has Jobe, Rainer, Liranzo, Lee, Briceno, Hall, among others. So the farm would still be in good shape, and the lineup in Detroit just got a lot better. I'm not as sold as some of you that the players the Tigers give up are going to have a big impact as major leaguers, assuming they all make the bigs.
