Those were not good swing decisions by Riley on either that 1-0 or 1-1 pitch. He could be sitting 3-0 instead, and took a walk on that fourth pitch below the zone, and he might not have struck out on the breaker in the dirt. He’s off at the moment, and the shake of his head going back to the dugout tells the rest of us that he knows it.
