What the hell is the World News Times? In any event, it would not be super shocking to see Harris leverage whatever relationship he might have with Buster to make a deal happen.

Probably most of that came in 1987 when he won the ERA title with an 8-16 record. He actually finished fifth in the Cy vote that year.

I imagine it's being regarded much differently in the fire-breathing RWM.

Here is some additional information to consider regarding the use of emojis as a trolling mechanism. https://scholarcommons.scu.edu/cseng_senior/300/ The Impact of Emojis on User Engagement with Trolling Content in Online Platforms Author Diya Saraf Date of Award 6-18-2024 Document Type Thesis Publisher Santa Clara : Santa Clara University, 2024 Department Computer Science and Engineering First Advisor Yuhong Liu Abstract This thesis examines the impact of emojis on user engagement within online discussions, particularly focusing on the trolling behavior on social media platforms such as Reddit. The central problem addressed is understanding how different types of emojis—in emotional, informational, and popularity-based categories—affect user interactions and engagement in online communications. Through a robust methodological approach, combining quantitative data analysis and Random Forest regression modeling, this research meticulously analyzes emoji usage patterns and their correlations with engagement metrics like upvotes and comments. The results highlight that emotional and popular emojis significantly enhance engagement by facilitating emotional expression and connection among users. In contrast, excessive or inappropriate use of emojis, especially those less popular or predominantly informational, tends to reduce engagement. These findings suggest that while emojis can serve as powerful tools for enhancing communication and mitigating conflicts, their misuse can lead to decreased user interaction and potential misunderstandings. Based on these insights, the study concludes that understanding the context-specific impacts of emojis is crucial for both content creators and platform moderators to foster healthier online environments. Recommendations for future research include exploring the effects of cultural differences on emoji interpretation and expanding the predictive modeling to other platforms to generalize the findings. This work contributes to the broader discourse on digital communication strategies, offering guidelines for more effective and empathetic engagement online.

Honestly, I didn’t know whether to heart or laugh. I flipped a coin for the billion.

It’s uncool to drag people into a sidebar they’re not involved in.

Please give some additional consideration to this.

The performative cruelty is the point.

Just what we need … a president making stupid off the cuff “suggestions” that stand a good chance of being implemented because he’s the king.

So I’m doing some research on Pete Rose for a thing, and I came to a startling realization that had never occurred to me before. Had Pete Rose retired at any point between the end of the 1976 season and the 1983 season, he would already have been enshrined in the Hall of Fame when it was revealed in March 1989 that he gambled on games in which he had a duty to perform. And then, at some point, the Hall of Fame would have had to make the decision to expel him from its ranks, which had never happened before and hasn't since. And had Pete retired after the 1983 season itself, he would certainly have been voted into the Hall in January 1989 and due to be inducted that August. But during the interim, the first public allegations of his gambling on games he was involved in would have come out that March, with the Dowd Report released that June! Can you imagine what a delightfully entertaining ****show that would’ve been!

I’m hearing rumblings that Houston is out. Maybe there was bad blood between the two. Maybe the 6/156 is a phantom offer that people assumed was on because that was the offer he’d turned down. Who knows. We’re all just guessing. Cubs wouldn’t be a bad move for Bregman because that would make them the prohibitive favorite in that division, and every player wants to go to a sure winner if he can. Among the remaining teams, the Cubs are the closest to that. The only fly in the ointment is Matt Shaw. He’s a top 20 prospect who is presumed to be major league ready to take third base. BUT: he has a soft arm and is considered by some a better fit at second, but he’s blocked there by Nico Hoerner. So, I could see Bregman going there provided the Cubs have a deal in place for Shaw to get back either a catcher or another rotation piece. Based only on what I’ve read, though, Bregman wants to go to Boston more than anywhere else. After all, he’s said he’s willing to play out of position to go there.

Ro Khanna is very mealy-mouthed on the Maher show.

How are Republicans allowing video like this into public view? This has to be one of the last one of these we’ll see.

There is no way they are not skimming taxpayer money.

Sure. You could also do throwing accuracy to first for infielders, or to various bases for outfielders. You could have a race around the bases, or a race to first after hitting a ball. Pitching accuracy to corners of the zone for various pitches. I wouldn't do max speed throws, that could lead to injury. But you know, things along those lines.

Would wouldn’t want to play in the land of the stars with one of the two historically iconic franchises in league history?

I wish Baseball could figure out some kind of similar skills competition for their All-Star game. I am so bored of home run derby and celebrity softball.

The irony, of course, is that the Trumpers are going to point that out as a defense when it does come up.
