I really, really hope the new front office leadership was not knowingly covering this up, or otherwise enabling him until it became clear they were going to be implicated in whatever his business was and then forced him out before it rolled over on them. I think they have to prove their hands are clean of it somehow. I don’t know how that would work.
As for women not feeling comfortable reporting this, I would think that would be true of practically any organization that’s 80%, 90%, whatever, male, irrespective of the actual atmosphere they foster. Even in the best of situations, whatever that would look like, just the sheer outnumbering would be enough for a woman to bite her tongue for fear of not knowing how badly they would be upsetting the apple cart and torpedoing their career, because you get one shot at it and you best not miss. Flip side, in a truly progressive organization, it would be clear as crystal that behavior is intolerable and all doors are open to legitimate complaints.
