The remaining 28 owners are mollified by the substantial profits they get from owning a baseball team that both throws off hundreds of millions in revenue and increases in valuation, and which they don't even have to spend on to seriously compete, because competing is a nice-to-have, not a must-have.

They're crashing the economy so they can game the markets along the way.

I might tweak this to be a little closer to 1/3 support, defend, and celebrate his perceived divinity; 1/3 hate him and everything he represents; 1/6 bull**** themselves into supporting him because they see him as a tax-cutting business-first Republican with unfortunate behavioral ticks they can overlook because it hasn't affected them directly yet; and the remaining 1/3 don't know and don't care what's going on because it hasn't affected them directly yet.
