  1. Candelario swinging at everything high trying to tie the game early in the at bat, then works Hendriks into a favorable location for the much-needed lead off single.
  2. Abreu went into second to make a point.
  3. Fight! Fight! Fight!
  4. Right. There are just too many misspellings and malapropisms, and the practice is too persistent, for them to be all strictly accidental. I mean, sure, they're relatively stupid people, but really: "Imeach"? Come on ...
  5. Here's hoping there are enough yous to sink that whole fascist cabal in 2022 and 2024. 🥂
  6. What are the chances the new owners could be prevailed upon to allow us to obtain the MTS archives for history's sake? I'd throw a couple bucks against that venture, if that's what's needed.
  7. No to term limits. All that would get us a a revolving door of transactional business assholes looking to swoop in, make some quick bucks off taxpayers and lobbyists, and then steal away with Washington connections in hand for future graft opportunities. It's bad enough that our system allows too many of those people as it is. Cementing it in legislation would drive out the remaining people who are dedicated civil servants and turn it into a true swamp, 100%.
  8. No doubt. This season has far exceeded not only my expectations, but my best reasonable hopes. But now the pressure is on. They can't autopilot this shit anymore and hope for draft picks. It's time to make moves to contend, and I mean starting next year.
  9. I guess because Obama, Hillary and RINOs didnt focus-group well as the villains for this issue.
  10. So much for Hittin’ Harold. I’m not sure Haase could have scored on the Paredes double had it stayed in.
  11. Or a wild pitch. Or a passed ball. Or a balk.
  12. and then he strikes out lol
  13. I might have given Niko a 3-0 green light with one out and first base open.
  14. I am convinced that when these misspellings occur, they are intentionally virtue-signaling to their modestly-educated, unsophisticated, poorly-read constituency they are all on the same side, and people who make fun of them for “honest mistakes” like misspellings are despicable elitist jerks. IOW, I don’t think the misspellings are accidental.
  15. Just to clarify, ICYMI: that people with interest are questioning the integrity of the election is completely unrelated to the actual integrity of the election. And bonus, it is false that the more people with interest say the election is rigged, the more likely it is rigged—at least by the people they’re accusing of the rigging.
  16. People are questioning
  17. I’d be OK with this as long as they’re willing to cut bait on Peralta early if (once?) he shows he is as ineffective with results as his very blue Savant card indicates he should be. I would also be OK with completely letting Peralta go. His peripherals are all wrong: FIP- of 114 (belying his ERA- of 70); SIERA of 5.14 (vs ERA of 3.04); BABIP of .238; K/9 under 6 (!); fWAR of 0.6 (vs RA9-WAR of 2.2). And arguably the worst peripheral of all: age 33 in 2022. But I doubt we will do this, so I’d bet the Tigers would roll the dice on him for another year, and that would be OK with me as a calculated gamble. I don’t care about the money, but if the Tigers were to throw more than one guaranteed year at Peralta, I would be disappointed not just in such a deal per se, but in the departure from the directional changes the organization has been signaling to us for the past several weeks.
  18. Never mind, I found in the Arizona Republic, which is obvious not a liberal news outlet because they failed to fail to report this: The draft reports reviewed by The Republic minimize the ballot counts and election results and instead focus on issues that raise questions about the election process and voter integrity. Election analysts say those findings are misleading and built on faulty data. The draft report shows there was less than a 1,000-vote difference between the county's certified ballot count and the Cyber Ninjas' hand count. The hand count shows Trump received 45,469 fewer votes than Biden. The county results showed he lost by 45,109. The draft audit report says, however, the election results are inconclusive. Maricopa County Board Chairman Jack Sellers said the overall results in the draft report confirm “the tabulation equipment counted the ballots as they were designed to do, and the results reflect the will of the voters.” “That should be the end of the story,” he said. “Everything else is just noise.” Logan declined to comment through his spokesperson Rod Thomson. https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/politics/elections/2021/09/23/arizona-audit-draft-report-confirms-biden-beat-trump-2020/5835521001/
  19. Can you share the Facebook or Parler link where you heard this?
  20. Always remember: the goal here is not to find actual fraud and overturn the election. That's a nice-to-have the trumpies know they'll never get. The goal here is to legitimize the idea that the craziest, most unhinged claims about elections must be taken seriously. As long as wholly-fabricated conspiracy theories are granted the oxygen of earnest inquiry, fascism will keep at least its foot in the American door.
  21. Nice Orange Power salute, there.
  22. I've long thought the cleverest name for him is Agent Orange.
  23. I guess so
  24. A couple of interesting things about the last ten-game stretch of the season, which starts today: They are all against Central teams, and AL Central is the division we have done the worst against. That said, all three teams we are facing (White Sox, Royals, Twins) have all won nine games against us this season. If we were to end on a ten-game win streak, we would be even in the season series with the Twins and Royals, and would win the season series against the Sox.
