  1. Lol at the idea that chasfh is effectively restricting free speech in America. I can’t even get a bunch of Internet forum randos to care about what I have to say. Like I’m going to get DirecTV to pay attention to what I would like them to do? Come on.
  2. Apropos of nothing, I notice that one of the two expansion teams in the eternal baseball universe is in Birmingham, Alabama (along with Montreal). Birmingham could never support a big league team, but I have wondered how they have never gotten an NBA franchise. They are the #45 market in the country, right behind Jacksonville and OKC, and bigger than New Orleans, Memphis, and Buffalo, all of whom have at least one major franchise (and two of which have two teams). And Birmingham is far enough from Atlanta so that the Hawks probably won't bleed enough supporters to make a difference, but could also generate a pretty good rivalry if they can manage to compete for a division against one another.
  3. I'm betting one or more top investors in AT&T have threatened to pull back some of their money of they didn't drop OANN, since T has been the target of protests from major rights organizations, some of which have ties to top corporations.
  4. lol equivocating the violent storming of the capitol to prevent Congress from doing its constitutionally-mandated duty, versus supporting a legislative change that would restore the balance of one person-one vote in the Senate, as equally threatening to American democracy.
  5. They are far worse because they advocated, and still advocate, the overthrow of American democracy in order to keep the guy who legitimately lost the 2020 election as president, against the will of the people. OAN is bad for America. Good for Russia.
  6. Newsmax. Three to go if you want to sweep Faux News out the door.
  7. I am using my freedom of speech to say that I think that the Overthrow America Network is bad for this country. If you don’t like it then go back to Russia.
  8. There’s a huge bias for west coast for obvious reasons: more Japanese-friendly environment, closer to home, friends/family/fans can watch west coast games at a reasonable Japanese hour.
  9. Take him to Xochimilco’s for the nachos and Seiya’s in he bag.
  10. OK, I was a little better on it the second time around. Wordle 210 4/6 🟨⬜🟨⬜⬜ 🟨🟩⬜🟩⬜ ⬜🟩⬜🟩🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  11. One down, two to go.
  12. Well, I didn't say I didn't suck at it! 😅

  14. Stanley Clarke, of all people. I believe it was 1978.
  15. Humoring your way of thinking, I don’t think “Dem supporters” (aka anyone who doesn’t support Trump) would be against the vaccine, if only because Trump would be publicly slagging the idea of being vaccinated to the red hats.
  16. I read that fast and slow, and it was funny both ways.
  17. I was referring to the availability of the vaccine outside the US due to the efforts of the Biden administration, such as they are, to distribute it. If Trump had successfully stolen the election, I imagine there would be far less distribution for the vax worldwide. As to your point, I could see Trump both slagging the idea of getting the vaccine while talking to red hats and their thought leaders, while claiming credit for the vaccine while talking to everyone else. He unabashedly tailors different messages for different audiences, and makes no effort at consistency because he succeeds on his own terms without doing so.
  18. I look forward to the day when Republicans publicly execute Democratic politicians because Democrats have been planning to publicly execute Republicans all along.
  19. lol i stopped reading here
  20. In all seriousness, it makes perfect sense that the party that is actively working toward achieving single-party rule would have no interest in a multi-party debate. After all, that suggests that they agree that this is a democracy where voters deserve to choose their leaders, and Republicans simply have no interest in that.
  21. Again, several years too early on the prediction.
  22. All part of the long con.
  23. All that said, I suppose we can dream on the idea of Chris Fetter and team unlocking a great deal of latent talent that would push the pen up to the top tier of the league. We can also dream about Scott Coolbaugh unlocking Miguel Cabrera's youth and helping Miggy deliver a 30/100/.300 season for one last hurrah.
  24. Put it this way: if the bullpen as constructed turns out to be the Tigers' strength, they might challenge 2003 and 2019 at the bottom of the franchise.
  25. Uhhhhhh ... Well, I guess McCosky's gotta work in this town, so ... FWIW, ZIPS is far less impressed: Here's some bonus commentary about the bullpen from Szymborski's write-up: While ZiPS generally likes the rest of the Tigers, we come now to the bullpen. Think of the characters you’ve disliked the most in TV and movies. For ZiPS, the Tiger bullpen is like a horrible mashup of Andy Bernard, Neelix, Councilman Jam, Ted Mosby, and Scrappy-Doo all smashed together into a Katamari ball, destroying every bit of joy in the universe like the slime from the second Ghostbusters movie. ZiPS doesn’t project a single member of the bullpen to be clearly better than ordinary, and unless I’ve somehow programmed an algorithm with a ridiculously specific, targeted hatred, the Tigers would be wise to make some additions here, especially if quick contention is the plan.
