  1. lol misread or misinterpreted
  2. I see what you're saying, but I am talking about something more than attacking credibility and draining resources.
  3. I can see the benefit to the administration of "never finding" the shooter.
  4. I can kind of see one valid reason for doing so, in that relatively unsophisticated young men would be peppered with questions about it by reporters skilled in this kind of line of inquiry to elicit sensational commentary, and a player might end up saying something ill-phrased that would blow up in the team's face. The down side, of course, is that blocking access still looks punitive to the media. Kind of a no-win in this particular case.
  5. No doubt, and that typically extends to the clubhouse as well. I'm sure there are misogynists of at least the casual variety even in this clubhouse. In any club comprising dozens of young men, there can't not be. But I do believe they are not part of parcel of the rot of ISE corporate culture, but rather, simply (and sadly) typical of any of the other 29 organizations. I'd like to think ours is better on some level, but that's admittedly hopeful thinking.
  6. Says the guy who depends on the goodwill of the team for clubhouse access. 😏 That said, I do believe the players, field coaching staff, and the new front office are neither part nor parcel of the rotting ISE organization work culture.
  7. I've been wondering which wave you and I are in? Definitely not the first wave, foreign nationals and citizens with particular skin color, which is happening now. Second wave will probably be Democratic politicians and liberal activists—that one might start up really soon. Third wave will be media, academia, research scientists, traditional medical establishment, non-evangelical clergy, and other thought leaders. So, probably fourth wave as run-of-the-mill lippy bastards. They'll almost certainly seal the borders from the inside before it gets to that. When that happens, that's when we'll know we're actually mortally doomed.
  8. I have no interest in discussing whether the shooting at the trump rally was an honest assassination attempt. All I can say is, it's a convenient miracle that Trump's ear has since completely healed.
  9. I wonder whether there is a race between federal police forces and local police forces to the be the one to locate the shooter for the purpose of controlling the narrative about the shooter's motives?
  10. Doing so would not have served this particular president's interests.
  11. People understandably refer to everything that's been happening in America the past few months as "political", but it all seems to have moved beyond mere politics, a term which suggests a competition between evenly-matched opponents. I'm starting the think things have evolved beyond that to something else, something I don't have the words for yet.
  12. Mr Alarmist Non-sense has been wondering whether this isn't a false flag and that Kirk wasn't sacrificed by the inside in the service of a fascism strategy? Because in the absence of an apprehension, everyone from the very top on down is blaming the left/liberals/"Democrat" Party for this. Or are they not capable of that?
  13. You’ll at least root for us after the Yankees get eliminated and the Tigers keep going on, right? 😉
  14. Not to get all political here or anything, but considering the decimation of local news operations in general, coupled with the evolution of teams lording access over beat writers in exchange for ignoring embarrassing episodes, stories like this are practically guaranteed never to come out through the efforts of local media.
  15. His emergence very much has a vintage early 2022 Skubal vibe to it.
  16. Tigers dump Yankees, 11-1.
  17. Colt Keith’s homer got the Yankee fans to start booing. Music to my ears.
  18. My wife is from small town Wisconsin. She and I are on the same page about things. She is gobsmacked at some of her FB friends from home posting loving Jesus-filled tributes to that fire-breathing asshole. She says she had no idea about them. Doesn’t surprise me, though. As I said, it’s small town Wisconsin.
  19. I bet I know where he learned to do that.
  20. Joke’s on us: she’s known exactly what she’s been doing the whole time.
  21. Well, Austin Wells ain’t giving up, anyway …
  22. Man, Jazz not even trying in that at bat. Yankees giving up?
  23. Bert trying on new numbers. Next up: cats and dogs lying together.
  24. I was just about to ask: so how do we feel now about the idea that the Tigers are going to get smoked out of the playoffs two straight?
  25. Kerry Carpenter doing Carpenter things!
